ChristopherÂŽ doublebass DB200-RN Traveling with the bass is always a challenge. In particular traveling by air is getting more and more restricted and expensive for double bassists who want to take their instrument aboard. To make traveling with the bass easier, Christopher has developed a double bass with a removable neck. Removing the neck could not be easier: First, you start with tuning down the strings some turns, so the bridge can be removed. Then, release the strings from the tailpiece (which can stay on the bass). After loosening the neck screw, you slide the neck forward and store it (with the strings) in the neck bag. The well padded added soft case for the Christopher RN can n be used for both the assembled and disassassembled bass. An optional flight hard case is also available for the Christopher RN. The dimensions of the flight hard case are L 55'' x W 32'' x H 22''; the total weight, including instrument, is 60.5 lbs. Customed fully carved RN is available upon request. Significant investments in quality woods, aged in a controlled environment in our own manufacturing plant, has been made. Our maker’s series offers hand carved instruments with well-selective spruce tops, fine flamed maple back and sides, made after old famous maker’s patterns (Amati, Gofriller, Montagnana models available). Our double basses are available in four models: Gamba, Flat Back, Violin shaped and Busetto. Besides 7/8 and 3/4 sizes, we offer complete fractional sized double basses in 5/8, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 and 1/10. Our 7/8 basses are also available as 5 string models. Other instruments are available in sizes from 1/4 to 4/4.
