ombasa Air Safari is a scheduled airline based at Mombasa’s Moi International Airport. Known as ‘the friendly Kenya coast airline’, MAS operates daily flights from Mombasa serving Amboseli, Tsavo West, Nairobi Wilson and the Masai Mara. MAS has twice daily flights from Mombasa to Diani Beach (Ukunda), avoiding the awkward journey via ferry. In July 2013 MAS launched a twice daily service from Nairobi Wilson to the Masai Mara. It also now takes bookings to fly from Mombasa and Diani to Nairobi Wilson.
Established in 1974 as Mombasa Air Services, MAS operates a fleet of 13-seater Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft with PT6 turboprop engines. On the Mara route, MAS operates a modern 30-seat version of the iconic Douglas DC-3, also fitted with PT6 turboprops. The company has its own maintenance facility at Moi International Airport.
