Avis Botswana is the only car rental company represented throughout Botswana. Its Head Office is in the commercial centre of Gaborone, with other offices at the airports in Francistown, Maun and Kasane. Maun and Kasane serve as useful links for travellers visiting the prime game viewing areas.
Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) was established in 1970 to be the country’s main agency for commercial and industrial development. The Government of Botswana owns 100 per cent of the issued share capital of the corporation.

In Botswana, all sports clubs, associations and federations fall under the control of one umbrella organisation the Botswana National Sports Council, which has existed as an independent body since 1965. Its objectives of promoting sport within Botswana and participating in sport outside Botswana are captured in its motto, “Sports for all, for leisure, health, employment and national pride.” The BNSC is the government’s way of extending resources to various sports associations and federations including: financial support, liaising with other government ministries and departments, and above all, policy formulation for sports development. The BNSC co-ordinates sports development, coaching and administration, while managing sports facilities and forging links with international sports bodies.
