COMMUNITY BASED ORGANISATIONS Many community-based organisations (CBOs) from all over Kenya are members of Ecotourism Kenya. All of them have two things in common: they support sustainable tourism and they have (or plan to have) tourism enterprises. They will therefore be found offering accommodation, traditional performances, safari guiding, boat tours, artefacts, protection and restoration of tourism destinations among other activities. To support what they do, always ask your tour operator or accommodation provider the actions they have taken to ensure that such groups beneďŹ ts from their activities. And in case you are travelling ensure that you visit at least one CBO enterprise in the tourism region you are visiting.
