EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING FOR OUR BEN With a challenging year ahead, this was the first full season for Ben running two cars. Although the season started well he didn’t manage to qualify for the final of the NASA championships in the class 8.

The UKAC championships were a different matter, with Ben up in the points, it was full steam ahead and having more points in the Class 5 he decided to concentrate on that.

JEWELULTRA AREA MANAGER ENTERS THE FAST LANE Jewelultra ran a promotion for the UK business development managers in early 2016, with the prize of a First Class return flight to the UAE to attend the Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix. After working very hard David Preston who covers Scotland won the tickets and was flown first class and stayed in the Royal Club of a 5 star hotel so no expense was spared. He was accompanied by John Boseley (Managing Director) and Neil Simmonds (Global Export Manager). David said ‘I had a fantastic time and I would like to thank John for giving me the opportunity to attend my first F1 Grand Prix’.’

CARBON CLASS – A NEW GENERATION OF PAINT PROTECTION After significant testing and development Jewelultra have launched Carbon Class Paint Protection. Unlike Diamondbrite, Carbon Class Paint Protection is a One Stage product that has to be applied panel by panel. Based on Flourocarbon Polymers it creates a ‘self healing’ surface that expands and contracts with changes in temperature. Once cured it remains highly water repellent, protects the surface from UV rays and reduces the need for washing the vehicle by approx. 50%. The ‘icing on the cake’ is a quality hard case that is the After Care Pack. This contains a ‘Top Up’ treatment called Morror Finish which is sprayed on and maintains the paint protection to its optimum level. Also included is a Glass Cleaner, Shampoo, Interior Cleaner and Micro Fibre Cloth.

When we put a post on Social media asking anybody who had their car treated to send us a photo, among the huge response we weren’t expecting of all things a Tipper Truck. That is exactly what Shaun Dunn from Maidstone sent us. Proof if any were needed that the Diamondbrite Paint sealant works on any vehicle. Shaun says "It took me a bit longer than the norm but the finish is 5* started with TFR then the finish was the paint sealant,♥it.”

2017 is a significant year in Jewelultra’s history as it is 25 years since John Boseley started the business. In July 1992 John started Jewelultra from a farm building in Pembury, Kent. John is still the company’s Owner and Managing Director and remains passionate about the business. The company now boasts a multimillion pound turnover, employs 34 people, and has a factory in Loughborough covering over an acre. John says ‘I am extremely pleased and proud of what the company has achieved in its first 25 years. We are now a market leader in Automotive Paint Protection and a significant producer of chemicals for the Automotive market and export all around the world. There is still huge potential going forward and we see further growth in the Automotive markets as well as the Commercial Vehicle, Marine, Motorcycle, Bicycle and Caravan/Motorhome markets. Like any growing company the biggest strength are the people that work for us and we are no different. I am very optimistic about the future of the company’

After terrible weather in the week leading up to the final meeting of the season, the track was a quagmire, with cars barely gaining traction and making it to the finish line, always a danger for such high revving cars. The weight of the mud on the wheels and engines over revving would cause issues all day, with Ben’s first problem, a hardened piece of mud caught on the cam belt, causing a slip of 5 teeth, but fortunately no engine damage. Next was the head gasket, with the issue unsolved, this ended the meeting, but the hard work had been worth it, with a position of 4th out of 24 drivers, in the Class 5 final table of the UKAC championship. Seems every cloud has a silver lining. So well done Ben and good luck for next year.

CHEMICAL BROCHURE The company have recently launched a new Professional Products Catalogue which really shows what a huge range of products the company does. It covers products for the Automotive, Commercial Vehicle, Motorcycle, Marine, Bicycle, Caravan and Motorhome markets. In addition it includes a very useful chart which gives the specific dilution rates for all the chemicals.
