If you want to know who we are… The mission of Lamplighters Music Theatre is to be the premier producer of the art of Gilbert & Sullivan, as well as other compositions of comparable wit, eloquence, and musicality. Critically acclaimed artistic successes for the Lamplighters include honors for Best Production and Best Director at the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Buxton, England, and local awards in nearly every performance, direction, and design category.

MEET THE L A MPLIGHTER S JENNIFER ASHWORTH (‘01) Video Production Intern. Jennifer sings opera and operetta with local companies such as Berkeley Opera, Festival Opera, San Jose Lyric, and is a member of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra Chorale, American Bach Soloists and Cappella SF. She has been a teaching artist for the SF Opera Guild since 2003 and is co-creator of the Guild’s program for grades K-3, Sing A Story. Jennifer is the co-founder of Presto! Interactive Opera, and is also the founder and director of the MAD Band at the School of the Madeleine, Berkeley. NICHOLAS DAHLMAN (‘12) Stream Director. Nicholas

played Jack Point in Lyric Theater’s Yeomen of the Guard, Paul Verrall in Benicia Theater’s Born Yesterday, Antonio in a concert version of The Marriage of Figaro, and young Ebenezer Scrooge at Dickens Fair. LAWRENCE DILLON (‘19) Videographer. Having been

a lifelong fan of the works of Gilbert and Sullivan, Lawrence is thrilled to work with Lamplighters. He has previously sung with the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus for twelve years.

DARRON FLAGG (Debut) Box. Darron has performed

with numerous opera companies including San Francisco Opera, Livermore Valley Opera, Festival Opera, Pocket Opera, Verismo Opera, and West End Opera. He has performed at LA Philharmonic’s Walt Disney Hall and sung the title role in Rossini’s Le Comte Ory.

Favorite roles include Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Alfredo in La Traviata, and Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni. He has sung oratorio, recital works, along with his opera activities, in the United States, Israel, Germany and Russia. JENNIFER KIERNAN (‘88) Subtitles & Captions. Jenni-

fer was a Lamplighters audience member as a child in the 1970s, and for the last 30 years has been a performer, technical artist, and member of the Board of Trustees. She appeared in 2019 as Dame Carruthers in The Yeomen of the Guard at Lyric Theatre of San Jose, where she also frequently plays cello in the pit orchestra. In the winter you can find her singing Christmas carols at the Dickens Fair and with the Merrie Olde Christmas Carolers. PHIL LOWERY (‘94) Video Adaptation, Scenic Design.

Phil has enjoyed a decades -long affiliation with the Lamplighters as director, production manager, stage manager, Lord High Janitor, and occasional performer. Favorite roles include King Gama (2003), Frank Schultz (Show Boat, 2006) and husband to Kelcey Poe (since 2010). Phil is a free-lance teaching artist specializing in Shakespeare, and a director of operas, operettas and musicals for other Bay Area companies. Phil is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.

BRITTANY MELLERSON (‘15) Lighting & Makeup Design, Cultural Consultant.

Brittany is an East Coast native and a graduate of Point Park University’s Conservatory Program, with a BFA in Theatrical Lighting & Sound Design. Recent credits include lighting design for the revival of Roger Grunwald’s The Obligation, the 2018 PlayGround Festival of New Works, The Gondoliers and The Pirates of Penzance with Lamplighters, Graveyard Shift with SF Playhouse’s Sandbox Series, the 45th Annual Telluride Film Festival and Seen/By Everyone with Theatre of Yugen. MARCUS J. PAIGE (’21) Cox.

Marcus is a Southern California-born tenor. His stage experiences include the roles of Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Male Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia, and Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro. Marcus has a versatile musical background, appearing as Jamie in The Last 5 Years, leading the world premiere of Andrew Lippa’s Unbreakable and providing the singing voice for Zack in Disney’s Milo Murphy’s Law. JACKQUELIN PEDOTA (‘16) Costumer. At SFSU Jackie

found her niche in costuming while working on The Seagull, In The Next Room and designing Chicago. She was drawn into the world of Gilbert & Sullivan to join the costume team for The (New) Mikado and looks forward to many future projects with the Lamplighters. She loves making anyone who will listen laugh, so besides her time in the costume shop, she’s also a comedian, actress and tour guide. BAKER PEEPLES (‘75) Music Director, Pianist. Baker has

sung almost all the G&S tenor leads, as well as Eisenstein/Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Danilo/Camille (The Merry Widow), Tassilo (Countess Maritza), Paris (La belle Hélène), Karl Franz (Student Prince), and the Defendant in our KQED Trial. Baker has conducted almost all Galas since 1986, as well as hundreds of performances of G&S and other operettas and musicals. Baker was voted best male singer in the 1995 and 1997 International G&S Festivals. He maintains an active voice studio in San Francisco. ELISABETH REEVES (‘13) Stage Manager, Stream Producer. Elisabeth stage

manages for several companies around the Bay Area but considers Lamplighters her home. Memorable stage manager credits: Ruddygore (‘15), Yeomen (’17), A Song-to-Sing-O (‘17), and Noises Off (Hillbarn ‘17). She was nominated for a TBA Award for Best Props for Pirates (‘18). Elisabeth also performs at the Dickens Christmas Fair and the Renaissance Faire.

FRANCES SILCOX (‘16) Properties Manager. Easily

pulled into a witty story, what an “inestimable treasure” it is for France to take part in G&S stories accompanied by Lamplighters’ voices. France comes to the company carrying a love of objects and stories across the bridge from the museum world to the stage. She holds an M.A. in Museum Studies from The George Washington University and a B.A. from her favorite city’s University of San Francisco. JONATHAN SPENCER (‘90) Sergeant Bouncer. Jona-

than’s favorite roles at Lamplighters have included the Major General/Pirate King (The Pirates of Penzance), PoohBah (The Mikado), Learned Judge (Trial by Jury), Mr. Lindquist (A Little Night Music), The Playwright (Enter the Guardsman), and numerous Galas. You can also see him every Christmas as Squire Bracebridge in The Bracebridge Dinners at Yosemite. Other favorites: George in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Bay Area Stage – Arty Award nom.), Gutman in Maltese Falcon (B8 Theatre – Shellie Award nom.), Signor Naccarelli in Light in the Piazza (Willows Theatre – Shellie Award nom.), and Father in Ragtime (ACLO). EMMETT VAN SLYKE (‘20) Videographer, Video Editor & Audio Engineer. Emmett

is a composer, sound designer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, audio engineer, educator, videographer and photographer with an expertise in managing projects, budgets and talent from a multi-faceted perspective.

LUANA ZAPATA (‘17) Stream Editor, Subtitles & Captions.

Born in Peru and raised in Brazil, Luana holds a BA in Choral Conducting. She was previously seen with Lamplighters in The Yeomen of the Guard (2017) and The Gondoliers (2018). When Luana is not singing she is a stay-at-home mom to her two sons.
