Prospectus 2026-27
Welcome to the 2026-27 LAMDA prospectus.
This prospectus is a guide to our outstanding portfolio of performing arts courses.
As one of the world’s oldest and most renowned drama schools, LAMDA has been a pioneer in British conservatoire training for over 160 years. We remain so today, with a transformative training ethos designed to educate, nurture and inspire the next generation of performers, technicians and directors.
There’s never been a more exciting time to train with us. In 2025, we opened our first international studio facilities in New York City, brought performances of Shakespeare’s plays to secondary schools, and collaborated with the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. Over the summer, our Musical Theatre students took to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, performing for audiences from around the world. We also achieved exceptional results in the National Student Survey, with students praising our Wellbeing, Teaching, Learning Opportunities and Academic Support. And for the fifth year running, The Hollywood Reporter named LAMDA one of the top 10 drama schools in the world.
Life at LAMDA is rich, rigorous and rewarding. In our studios, workshops and theatres, you’ll gain the skills to excel in your craft. Beyond the classroom, you’ll test your stage combat at Fight Night, sing your heart out in our Bravo and Encore concerts, or march proudly with classmates in the London Pride Parade. Every voice is valued here, and our community of students, staff and faculty – from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures – creates a vibrant ensemble that celebrates difference and fuels creativity.
This prospectus offers just a glimpse of what your LAMDA journey could look like. I look forward to welcoming some of you next year.

We asked our outgoing student president team to share their experiences of their time at LAMDA. From training and social life to inspiration and personal growth, here’s what they had to say.
Why did you decide to train at LAMDA? How is it different from other drama schools?
Nigel : When I first decided to get my Master’s degree, there was only one school that came to mind: LAMDA. After looking through multiple drama schools and their offerings, it was clear that LAMDA would be the only one that could provide what I was looking for. It offers a two-year programme that isn’t strictly classical, with a deeper understanding of both stage and new media.
Rita : I chose LAMDA because of its great reputation for training, but also because every alum I spoke to talked about the strong sense of community here. That really stood out to me.
“LAMDA is one of the most social places I’ve ever been in… where negative competition just isn’t a factor.”
– Nigel Sudarkasa
What does a typical day on your course look like?
Nigel: A typical day in our first year kicked off with a mandatory physical and vocal warm-up before technique classes from morning to late afternoon. By second year, we shifted to self-directed warm-ups and rehearsals, making our own choices to bring projects to life.
Rita : In the BA Acting programme, first and second years usually have classes from 9 to 5:30 every day,
covering a bit of everything – accents, stage combat, voice work, singing, movement and acting technique. For third years, most days are filled with rehearsals, working with classmates, external directors, and the amazing Production & Technical Arts team.
What’s the social scene like?
Nigel: LAMDA is one of the most social places I’ve ever been in. One of the best things is how much it emphasises working as an ensemble. I’ve never been in such a supportive environment where negative competition just isn’t a factor.
Brie: As an international student, new to both the school and the country, I found adapting to the social scene quite challenging. Over time, however, I was able to find and foster a community within LAMDA.
What has been the most rewarding thing about being a student at LAMDA?
Rita: Honestly, the people I’ve met have been the best part. They’ve made my experience worth it and helped me grow as an actor and a human being every day.
Brie: Having the opportunity to work with some of the most passionate and committed artists – both tutors and students – as well as visiting artists.
“The people I’ve met have been the best part… they’ve helped me grow as an actor and a human being.”
– Rita Silva
How has your time at LAMDA prepared you for a career?
Nigel: Thanks to the training and the experiences I’ve had, I feel more ready than ever. What really sets LAMDA actors apart is their ability to collaborate and deeply investigate the text.
Brie : I came to LAMDA thinking I would leave a better actor, but the greatest achievement LAMDA has afforded me will be walking away a better human being, and as a result, a more enriched, well-rounded artist.
What’s one thing you wish someone had told you before you arrived?
Nigel: I wish I had known just how much I’d grow before starting drama school. You don’t just improve at your craft – you also learn a lot about yourself and how to empathise with others.
Rita: It’s going to be tough, but totally worth it.

From stage to screen and beyond, the Class of 2024 are already making their mark on the industry. Here, they reflect on their first steps into professional life and the ways their training at LAMDA shaped the artists they are today.
Since leaving drama school, I’ve been building my career in both stage and screen. My professional work so far includes Romeo and Juliet at the Bristol Old Vic, Hackney Empire and Belgrade Theatre, and Ellis on Channel 4. These were particularly meaningful for me as they marked my stage and screen debuts. Next, I’ll be playing Tootles, one of the Lost Boys, in Key to Pan. Tootles is a gentle, earnest and often overlooked character, and I’m excited to explore his quiet depth.
LAMDA gave me a strong foundation in both technique and professionalism. The training sharpened my craft, taught me adaptability and resilience, and prepared me for the demands of the industry. Working with professionals and exploring a wide range of texts gave me the confidence to transition into professional work. Training at LAMDA was transformative—challenging, rewarding and creatively fulfilling. I’d encourage anyone considering it to be ready for growth in ways they don’t expect. Being part of the LAMDA community means deep connection, support and a shared commitment to the craft.
“LAMDA helped me build confidence and resilience, preparing me to thrive in a demanding industry.”
Since graduating, I’ve worked on a wide range of productions, including Deputy Stage Manager for Mary and the Hyenas at Hull Truck Theatre and Wilton’s Music Hall, Company Stage Manager for The Daughter of Time at Charing Cross Theatre, and DSM for two musicals at the Bridewell Theatre. A highlight was Stage Managing LAMDA’s first ever production at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024.
During my training, I gained experience in every department, supported by dedicated and passionate tutors. I also completed two West End placements: Elf at the Dominion Theatre (2022) and Mean Girls at the Savoy (2024). These opportunities gave me both a broad skillset and first-hand knowledge of the professional theatre environment before graduating.
LAMDA helped me build confidence and resilience, preparing me to thrive in a demanding industry. The community is also something truly special. Many of my collaborators today are fellow LAMDA graduates, which makes me feel part of an inspiring and supportive network.
“Training at LAMDA was transformative —challenging, rewarding and creatively fulfilling.”

Since graduating, I’ve continued to create work rooted in justice and visibility. Most recently, I directed Women of Troy, a bilingual Albanian-Serbian adaptation that has toured Kosovo and Serbia and will be presented at festivals in Italy this September. I also lead the FemArt Festival—the largest feminist arts platform in the Balkans—and run Artpolis, an organisation using art to drive social change.
A particularly meaningful project has been Woyzeck, which I was inspired to direct during my time at LAMDA. The production premiered in Kosovo earlier this year with design by RADA graduate Grace Rumsey, a collaborator I first worked with on my final project at LAMDA, REVOLT. SHE SAID. REVOLT AGAIN. by Alice Birch. That production, which I consider one of my most treasured works, has since been presented at FemArt and will be shown in Paris this September at the Weetoo Festival. I was also fortunate to work again with my LAMDA tutor Nicoletta Bonanni, who joined me as Movement Director on Woyzeck
My training at LAMDA deepened my understanding of intersectionality and safe working practices, while introducing me to mentors, collaborators and lifelong inspirations. The emphasis on collaboration, critical thinking and ethical leadership continues to shape my practice.
Since graduating, I’ve been working as a freelance lighting technician on a wide variety of projects. One of my proudest moments was working with Light Initiative on set electrics for TV and film, which took me to Saudi Arabia to help install thousands of kilometres of LED pixel tape. I’ve also worked as a production electrician across London venues and toured internationally with Rambert Dance Company on their world premiere productions. That collaboration has since led to me being appointed Rambert’s Head of Lighting.
My training at LAMDA prepared me thoroughly for professional work. Working in the Sainsbury Theatre felt like being in a real venue and made the transition into industry seamless. I also valued the chance to train across all areas of production, which gave me a deep respect for the entire creative team and the confidence to communicate effectively on every project.
The environment, support and opportunities I experienced at LAMDA shaped the career I’m building today. If you are considering training here, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

To ease the process of finding somewhere to live, LAMDA has partnered with HYBR, an online marketplace for student accommodation that connects students directly with landlords and cuts out the need for traditional letting agents.
