LA NOTTE DELLA TARANTA DAYS AND GUIDELINES

his year's subject is "The wonder of the other, without borders". Thus begins the 2020 edition of the Taranta Night, between restrictions for Covid-19 and the desire for tradition. 10:00 - 12:00 17:30 - 19:00 Il Rocci di Cantina Coppola, the first ever white Negroamaro, was born in 2006 from the intuition of Carlo Antonio Coppola and the oenologist Giuseppe Pizzolante Leuzzi, who were convinced that the peculiar organoleptic characteristics of the Negroamaro could also give white wine making a structure of great impact. The first vintages were bottled as Vino da Tavola, since no DOC and IGT wine was used to make Negroamaro in white. Later the denomination of IGT Puglia was obtained. Today among our most appreciated IGTs.

Baked aubergine rolls

Ingredients: 500gr of aubergines, mortadella, sliced cheese flour, egg, breadcrumbs,extra virgin olive oil Cantina Coppola.
Wash the aubergines and, after cutting them into slices, put them in a colander with salt and a weight on top, to remove the bitterness. Put the mortadella and cheese on each slice of eggplant, also sliced, wrap them and pass them in flour, egg and breadcrumbs. Then place them in a baking pan and bake at 180° for 15-20 minutes.

djacent to St. Agatha's Cathedral, the Diocesan Museum is another example of Gallipoli Baroque, with its 3 floors and panoramic terrace from which you can admire the whole city. The building was built between 1750 and 1759 and has housed the ancient seminary for centuries. Inside you can find vestments, treasures and liturgical furnishings of the Cathedral, the Quaremba room, reproduction of the bishop's throne, bells and reliquaries. The strong pieces of the museum, for their artistic beauty and the importance they have for the whole city, are the silver half-busts of the patron saints of Gallipoli, St. Agatha and St. Sebastian, who leave the museum only for their feast days.
