Third-Friday Art Walk at Argenta

Specimens

North Little Rock native Marcus Vasquez’s exhibition Specimens opens at Argenta Library on Friday, January 20, during ThirdFriday Art Walk There will be a reception from 5 – 8 PM The exhibit continues with free admission in the library gallery through February 10

Vasquez works with repurposed items such as cardboard, scrap wood, metal, and tea bags. For this series, the artist painted a variety of bugs on tea bags in watercolor. Inspired by insect collections on display, Vasquez’s Specimens aims to take the mundane subject matter and materials and make them extraordinary.

Marcus Vasquez was born and raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He received his BFA in painting from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2018 Vasquez has exhibited work at
