2018 Schedule of Events All meetings and workshops are in the Methodist Church and start at 9:30 May 17 Our own resident artist Cathy Cooper will follow our business meeting with a demonstration with Graphite. http://cathrynpcooper.blogspot.com/ May 31 Bette Coninsby will get us started with a workshop in oils and pastels June 20 – 21 Day and half workshop by Cathyann Burgess in oils and cold wax.

It matters little what I paint. It matters much that I paint. A certain glance, attitude, light or mood communicates with me strong enough to get me motivated to speak back. Then I go to my studio and pick up chalk or brush. 2018 Schedule of Events continued

Combining my enjoyment of the intricate process of drawing with the wet on wet techniques of watercolor is how I approach my painting.

Most of my work is representational, depicting strong light and with an emphasis on color and design. Close-up and unusual view-points add an element of abstraction to the imagery, whether the subject is fruit, foliage, architecture or the figure. By simplifying a subject’s light and shadow patterns, I accentuate the dynamic interplay of positive and negative shapes.�

July 19th: Business meeting followed by demonstration from Sue August 7 & 8th: Pastel workshop with Nancy Nowak, from 9- to 4.
