CLUB UPDATE ANDY ODENBACH,

PRESIDENT / GM

Respect and Appreciation First and foremost, to all our Lake Nona Member physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals who are working tirelessly to treat, test and facilitate an end to COVID-19, thank you! We know that putting yourselves at risk every day is something the rest of us can’t imagine, but we are extremely grateful for your contributions and service. To the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club leadership and staff who work enthusiastically to provide the amenities and services our Members have come to enjoy during these most unusual times, thank you! A few weeks ago, in a world gone sideways, we lacked a cohesive cadence and rhythm that is beginning to form nicely for the benefit of our Members.

Brandon Richey and the golf course maintenance team – the course is immaculate and the

attention to delivering exceptional playing conditions has not waivered. The irrigation project

is also moving forward briskly to enable an incredible fall golf season at the Club.

Gregor Jamieson and the golf operations team – greeting Members, cleaning clubs, setting

the range, disinfecting carts and still patrolling the course to ensure rounds are kept to four

hours or less. We are fortunate to have your experience and tenure.

Jason Dixon and the culinary team – reimagining the to-go and food delivery experience on

a week-to-week basis with fresh ideas, menus, family meals, desserts and holiday specials has

been a terrific benefit while other local establishments have temporarily closed their doors.

Tim Cannell, Lindsay Blakely, Aleen Touma and the Grill Room team – it’s not only your

dedicated services you are providing today that is so impressive, but rather everything you

are doing to prepare for the day we reopen. It will be different, it will be noticeable, and it will

be positive for our Members' and guests’ experience.

Maria Esham, Kelvin Rivera, Victor Rodriguez, Gus Asca, and personal trainers – outdoor

exercise sessions, lap swimming, tennis, pickleball and access to the lake, have allowed our

Members to remove toxins, release endorphins and eliminate plenty of unwanted stress from

their daily routines.

Our maintenance and housekeeping team - Jeff Clymer and Anita Cortes – the facilities are

clean, the cobwebs nonexistent, and a list of special projects that we would normally not

start until summer, are all being attended to. Your behind-the-scenes efforts certainly

don't go unnoticed.

Administrative team - Wendy Thomas, Kellie Richmond and Matt Collis – bills still get paid,

employee benefits provided and an entirely new onboarding program for employees is being

created in the middle of this pandemic. What more could we ask for from a group of

dedicated professionals?

These are just a few leaders whose departments carry on and deliver value to our Members. I assure you there are another 80+ names that deserve recognition for their efforts as they are equally as important to our mission. It never gets old saying, “thank you” or “I appreciate it”, but it means even more when it comes from you. The next time one of our team members does something meaningful for you, I encourage you to let them know, as it can change their day instantly.

I look forward to seeing you at the Club! M AY 2 0 2 0

WILDLIFE REMINDER: SQUIRRELS

PRIVATE LESSONS RESUME MAY 1

Please be aware that we face an ongoing challenge with squirrels foraging for food on golf carts and in golf bags and our team is making a conscious effort to monitor the situation. As a friendly reminder, please avoid leaving food (i.e.- candy, fruit, energy bars, etc.), in your golf bag as the squirrels will damage your golf bag to get to it. The Club is not liable for any damage caused to your property by wild animals.

Lake Nona’s Golf Professional staff offers the highest level of instruction suitable for all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner or a skilled golfer, our team of certified golf instructors can help improve your game with specialized private lessons combined with Pro V1 video and computer programming.

BRANDON RICHEY

COURSE NEWS

In addition to our irrigation renovation project, I am pleased to announce two new capital improvement projects that we will be executing this summer - the replacement of the cart path alongside Hole 18 and the creation of a set of forward tees on the golf course. The cart path replacement on Hole 18 will run from the tee to the boat ramp. We will be addressing some drainage issues, widening the path in specific areas to better accommodate the traffic around the Clubhouse, as well as creating more cart parking near the Grill Room. The forward tee project will be very beneficial to our membership, as it will bridge the distance gap between the Red Tees and the Sunley Course. We recognize that the course can play quite challenging to those who struggle to carry their drive 150 yards. When determining the position of these tees, we took several items into consideration, including: line of play, safety from others and the natural contouring of the space. Twelve holes will have a leveled space created within the fairway to allow for tees to be set up, while five holes will utilize existing Red Tee locations, and we will create a new tee on Hole 17. Our irrigation renovation project continues to move forward as planned. We have installed the mainline throughout the back nine holes. As we move closer to our aerification closure (May 11 – 18), the contractors will transition to installing the sprinklers on each hole. This work will be executed while the back nine remains closed through the end of June. We are excited to see the progress and for you to begin enjoying the improvements this project will bring to the course. We hope you and your families are well and we look forward to seeing you on the course.

CLUB FITTING & REPAIR GOLF PERFORMANCE CENTER AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY One of the simplest ways to improve your game is to play with equipment that is built for your game. Lake Nona’s custom club fitting experience is a fun, interactive session to determine your golf equipment needs. Master Club Fitter Jason Bodey will introduce you to our custom fitting system, utilizing a universal adapter to allow golfers to demo a variety of club brands, and will then provide an analysis and advice on the best product to match your game. Utilizing the fully equipped club repair workshop, our Golf Professional staff is also expertly trained to perform a comprehensive list of club repair and maintenance services for all your equipment needs.
