The Business Committees, Board of Governors and Board of Trustees would like to thank all the Members who attended the town meetings and who took time to vote for Phase Two of the Horizon Plan - enhancements to the Community Center. We received a 72% return rate of the number of ballots issued with 77% voting in favor of moving this project forward. The Club would also like to thank Members Richard Gandy, George Novick, Peter Tota, and Al Wismer for volunteering over four hours validating every ballot and certifying the vote. Now the fun begins as the Management Team works hard to bring the project to life. Our Contractors are projecting the start date will be mid-June. Management will continue to update the Membership on the construction timeline and progress via emails and social media. We ask all Members to have patience as the construction phase is taking place. We will do everything in our power to avoid disrupting the daily activities during the summer season at the Community Center other than closing the Aquatics Area. Once again we offer a big thank you to all who voted to make this great enhancement move forward!

Coffee with GM at the Lodge During the three recent town meetings regarding the enhancement of the Community Center many Members expressed their challenges within the Club or the Community. While these concerns did not pertain to the Horizon Plan vote, we tried our best to provide input to their concerns. What was noted during this process is additional time is needed to give every Member an opportunity to express their concerns and/or offer suggestions that will help make your Club the best Club. We are happy to announce that there will be two “Coffees with the GM” at the Mountaintop Lodge during this summer. The first coffee will be Sunday, July 10th at 8 AM and the second coffee will be Sunday, August 21st at 8:00 AM. You don’t need to wait for the special meetings to discuss matters with the General Manager or other Team Managers; the Club has many outlets to have your voice heard. The website has all the contact information of the Management Team, and there is an “Ask the Manager” form that you can easily fill out. You can send an email to admin@lakenaomiclub.com, and our Communications Manager Laura Altemose will see to it that your question is addressed by the appropriate Manager. Most importantly your General Manager has always welcomed the Membership to visit the Administrative Office and “Ask Robert” in person. We want to hear from you!

New Clubhouse Manager We would like to welcome our newest team member, Alex Kyourktchiev as our Clubhouse Manager. We are excited to have Alex join our Food & Beverage Department. Alex started working for LNC in late April, just in time for our Comedy Night and Mother’s Day Brunch, where he got to meet a lot of our Members. He’s a quick learner, but please be patient with him remembering all the new names and faces. Alex graduated with a BA in Hospitality Management from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1997. He is married to his better half Desi and they have a son, Alex Jr. who is almost 12 years old. They are both excited to get a taste of the Lake Naomi Club lifestyle in the summer and cautiously optimistic about the weather in the winter months. Alex has requested that if anyone has connections, and is able to arrange next winter to be even milder than the past one, it would be highly appreciated! Most recently, Alex spent 13 years as the Assistant General Manager of Radnor Valley Country Club on the Main Line in Philadelphia. He brings with him an extensive knowledge about the Private Club industry, working together with both staff and Member Committees to enhance the already great atmosphere at the Lake Naomi Club. He is very happy to join the LNC team and work with Bobby Oeler and Robert Jones. Alex spent some quality time with Peter Koryttko and feels confident that Peter passed on all the secrets that made the Lake Naomi Clubhouse such a great place! If you would like to share your ideas or recommendations with Alex, please feel free to do so at any time, either by email at alexk@lakenaomiclub.com, or stop by at the Clubhouse and say hello to Alex!

BYOB at LNCH With more and more people becoming Wine Connoisseurs and Collectors, we understand that there are occasions when you would like to bring in that special bottle of wine that you’ve been saving to share with your guests, so the Club is now offering a BYOB program. Please let Clubhouse Management know if you are planning to Bring Your Own Bottle and we can address any concerns you may have. Members can either bring their wine into the Clubhouse a few days in advance or upon arriving for their dinner reservations and we will take care of the rest from storing, presentation and service. There will be a minimal corkage fee of $10 per bottle for this service. If you would like your wine to be decanted prior to arrival, just let us know.

No Shows at the Lake Naomi Clubhouse The Clubhouse Team works diligently to have a table available at the Members’ reserved time and on many occasions needs to turn other Members away because the Clubhouse is filled with reservations. Over the last couple years there has been an increase in the number of “no shows” for the reserved table and then the table will sit vacant. Members needing to cancel a dinner reservation in the Clubhouse are asked to do so twenty-four hours in advance. This will help us to better serve our members. Thank you.

Here we can showcase YOUR talents, whether it is through photography, art, music, really anything. W ant yyour our P ictures Wee w want Pictures Now that the camera shooting season is about to get into high gear remember the Membership/Marketing Committee would like to see more pictures of Club Members enjoying their favorite Lake Naomi-Timber Trails Amenity. Often Members have the best opportunity to get sensational shots during the events while the staff is busy supervising the activities and thus have limited time to take pictures. So carry your cameras with you and don’t miss that shot! We are always looking for great pictures for Reflections, LNC Promotions, the Annual Calendar, the Summer Calendar and the Club’s website. Throughout the next few months submit your photos to Laura Altemose, Communications Manager, at the Administrative Office. After the 2017 calendar is developed, Members will have the opportunity to vote for their four favorite calendar pictures. Each winner will be awarded 50 Club Dollars. We will be showing off some of the entries in future Reflections and on the website. Pictures tu that are submitted become the property of Lake Naomi Club and an may be used in future promotions. If you want your picture to be considered for the 2017 annual calendar, we’ll need the picture tu or digital file by September 15th, 2016. Digital file size does make m a difference when using a picture for print. Many pictures that th were submitted in the past were too small. For a picture to be a full calendar page the file size needs to be 3,000 x 2,200 pixels. It is important to submit the original file, do not downsize the picture, tu many editing programs ask to downsize the picture before sending. se Also most of the smart phones do produce pictures large enough en to be used but again remember to send the original file. Please P send your pictures to admin@lakenaomiclub.com with the subject su line Calendar Pictures.

Fitness Classes The Fitness Department currently offers classes of all different modalities taught by certified fitness professionals. July and August has even more with the return of all your favorites. Our Bootcamp and Yoga programs will return. Zumba is sure to shake your world. Indoor cycling is also rolling strong! Look for a complete schedule and more details at the Community Center as we get closer to summer. Please refer to the summer calendar on policies this summer for class participation as we try to accommodate all your needs in our limited space. Unused classes from last summer expire on June 25, 2016. The fitness department welcomes your ideas on programs and events that you may like to see brought to our community. Special Programming this Summer You pick the trainer, you pick the workout, you say when! Gather a group of 3-6 friends and family and together, with the LNC fitness professional of your choice, create a program of your liking. As an alternative to personal training, small group training allows for the socialization and motivation of a group exercise class set to more specific goal-driven and level-appropriate workouts. Members can meet with the trainer to set dates and times. Please call the Community Center for more information or to schedule a meeting. Wellness Workshops The Fitness Department is proud to announce the addition of a new Wellness Instructor to our program. Kimberly Matthews had joined the team this spring and brings with her a holistic approach to aquatic fitness, the studio and our outdoor amenities. Workshops will be held throughout the summer in the areas of Qi Gong, Meditation, Crystal Bowl Sound Bath, and Japanese Forest Bathing. Please call the Community Center for details on schedules and fees. Nutritional Coaching and Complete Fitness Assessment can be added to any fitness program for a fee of $80 per person. Know your numbers! Our trainers can help you set and reach your goals by assessing body composition and nutritional changes. Stand Up Paddle Fitness Standup paddleboard fitness (or SUP, as it’s known to its devotees) is exercises practiced on 10 foot to 12 foot long boards in the most serene of settings: our beautiful lake! Members with board sport experience or without can embrace SUP Fitness as a practice that brings a sense of joyful freedom to an otherwise earth-bound wellness practice. You can use your own paddleboard or rent from Club Beach. Pre-registration is required as there is a limited number of boards available. Each session will review the basics of paddling, and take you through a wonderful workout. See the Weekly Fitness Schedule for days and times and details on the cost of the program in your summer calendar. 6

Memorial Day Weekend Thoughts In just a few weeks at our beautiful facility, a good number of you will be playing in our Round Robin doubles, getting a refreshing cardio workout, or just enjoying playing tennis with your friends. Have you ever wondered how this sport benefits you? In the recent Tennis Industry Report, several health benefits were listed. Here are just a few: The University of Illinois study found that tennis may generate new connections between nerves in the brain and thus promote a lifetime of continuing brain development. ne A Southern Connecticut State University study found that tennis players scored higher in vigor, optimism and self-esteem while scoring lower in depression, anhi ger, g confusion, anxiety, and tension compared to other athletes and non- athletes. Some physical reasons to play tennis included: Our sport helps your aerobic fitness by burning fat and improving your cardiovascular fitness and maintaining higher energy levels. Anaerobic fitness is improved by offering short, intense hi bursts of activity during a point followed by rest which helps muscles use oxygen bu effi ef ciently. Under Psychological Reasons to Play Tennis: Develop Performance Rituals before U serving or returning to control your rhythm of play and deal with pressure. These skills can transfer to taking exams, conducting a meeting or making an important sales presentation. Tennis teaches sportsmanship since it teaches you to compete fairly with opponents. The above are just a few of the many mental, physical, and psychological reasons to play this sport for a lifetime. SO GET OFF THE COUCH AND PLAY! Remembering Bobby: To remember Bobby this Memorial Day weekend, I’d like to ask you all to warm up with your partner hitting left-handed for just one minute. Then you can continue your normal procedure prior to play. Thank you in helping to honor and remember our friend and coach. Tennis Tip For Memorial Day Weekend: To become a better doubles partner, be encouraging. When your partner misses an easy volley that would have claimed many thousands in prize money, just say, “That’s ok. Let’s win the next point so we will have another chance to win.” Looking forward to seeing everyone soon. Richard McKee P.S. By the time you receive this newsletter, I will be in France with my wife wife. I do plan to o attend the French Open. If you are watching on TV, I will be wearing my Lake Naomi hat. Wave to me and I will wave back!!

Lake Naomi Road Cycling Lake Naomi Club has an active and welcoming community of cycling athletes. Weekly group road rides originate from the Community Center on most summer weekend mornings. Typical rides are on the order of 30 miles at a pace of 18 mph. Think of this as a group of road and triathlon cyclists in spandex and cycling shoes on bikes with the skinny tires. Additional details can be found at: https:// groups.yahoo.com/group/LNCycling.

If you have any questions regarding handicapping, please stop by the golf shop and we can help with them and set you up in the system if you do not have a GHIN number.

Golf Tip Bunkers are always a big topic when giving lessons. Remember to use the bounce of your Sand Wedge. Bounce is the angle of the bottom portion of your sand wedge and to utilize it you must open the club face. This allows the club to “hyIncorrect Correct droplane” through the sand and not dig into it like a shovel. Drawing lines while practicing gives instant feedback. Put them an inch behind and in front of the ball and try to enter and exit the club as close to the lines as possible… Practice only!

Lake Naomi Club Q & A Are the pop-up shade tents permitted on the beaches? Personal umbrellas which attach to a beach chair are preferred on beaches rather than large beach umbrellas which often become safety hazards in breezy conditions. Those wishing to use small scale shade apparatuses must first seek approval of the lifeguard who has the authority to refuse use according to daily weather conditions and attendance. Any approved shade structures must be set to the perimeters to avoid both visual and safety obstructions. My neighbor is not a Member of the Club. Can I take my neighbor to the Clubhouse for dinner as my guest? No, Club Guidelines are very clear on this matter. Lake Naomi – Timber Trails Property Owners who choose not to join the Club are not permitted to be guests at any Club Facility or Program. How can I ensure that I get all emergency notices/updates by email? I have signed up for group emails but this category was not listed. When an emergency notice or update is sent out to the Members it is sent to everyone that has an email address listed with the website. There is no need to sign up for emergency notices/ updates, however it is important to maintain a current email address with the website.
