OUR MISSION
Lake Catholic High School is an educational community centered in the mission of Jesus Christ where young men and women of diverse interests and abilities are encouraged to learn, to work, and to think for themselves.
OUR VISION
Lake Catholic High School will strive to educate students in the model of our patron, St. Thomas Aquinas, by preparing its students, faculty, and staff to create a culture that embodies love of knowledge, love of persons, and love of God.
Dear Members of the Lake Catholic High School community,
Lake Catholic’s newly developed strategic plan charts an exciting course for the important and inspired work we will undertake as we write the next chapter in our school’s history. With the enthusiastic support of both the Diocese of Cleveland and the Lake Catholic High School Advisory Board, our strategic plan builds upon the growth and success Lake Catholic has achieved throughout its existence.
This strategic plan is a roadmap. This multi-year plan will ensure that Lake Catholic High School will grow and thrive.
The plan was written using a detailed assessment of where Lake Catholic is today. Once those facts were available, surveys with the broader community were conducted to gain a sense of the issues. Those issues were analyzed and refined after another survey. The results were used by a group of community leaders to develop strategic goals and objectives across eight domains, ultimately becoming our Strategic Plan.
Over the course of the next few years, the fruits of our Strategic Plan will become reality. Each year we will assess how we did from the previous year. Remaining aligned with the goals and objectives, we will adjust and continue moving forward. We are excited to get to work and share our progress with you.
I want to recognize and thank our Steering Committee CoChairs, Mike Creadon (’81) and Mike Denk (’83), faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, our Advisory Board, and the Diocese of Cleveland who have engaged in this extensive process. Our Strategic Plan is a bold living document representing the collective work of many who served on our committees. This plan focuses on who we are, where we are going, and what our impact can be on our students, our community, and our world. It embodies the envisioned goals and strategies that will lead us into the next era of Lake Catholic High School.
My deepest gratitude goes to all who led and participated in our collaborative process. Your hard work has made an aspirational plan that will shape and prepare our learners to be difference-makers and guide us in Creating Extraordinary Futures.

Engage Lake Catholic High School stakeholders to create a culture of support which ensures the viability of the school now and for generations to come.
OBJECTIVES
Create an enthusiastic culture of philanthropy which fosters connection and encourages a consistent commitment to giving.
Build a dynamic, comprehensive advancement plan to educate and engage stakeholders while raising funds to support Lake Catholic.
Develop and execute a clear, compelling, and consistent communications and brand strategies to enhance the image and visibility of our school.
Research and implement a data-driven approach that generates support for all fundraising initiatives.
Prioritize the growth of the endowment to exceed the current and future needs of Lake Catholic.
Catholic Identity
Form faith-filled disciples who encounter Jesus Christ through meaningful and transformative faith experiences, learning, and Christian action.
OBJECTIVES
Incorporate the teachings and values of Jesus Christ throughout the student experience, fostering academic growth alongside spiritual, moral and personal transformation.
Enhance faith-based clubs, activities, retreats, and opportunities for students to foster personal enrichment, spiritual growth, and community with each other and Jesus Christ.
Offer faith formation experiences for faculty and staff to deepen their faith and enhance their ability to share the love of Jesus Christ with students and one another.
Enrollment
Be the school of choice centered in the mission of Jesus Christ to attract and retain students of diverse interests, abilities and backgrounds thus achieving optimal enrollment.
OBJECTIVES
Create and execute a comprehensive enrollment management plan to optimize recruitment, engagement and retention.
Implement clear and timely communication of financial obligations to help families make informed enrollment decisions.
Develop a strategy to encourage legacy student enrollment.
Facilities
Provide an inviting campus that inspires faith, learning and pride, which incorporates state of the art technology, and ensures a safe and secure environment.
OBJECTIVES
Develop a comprehensive Master Plan that addresses deferred and preventative maintenance, implements an effective space utilization program, and envisions future enhancements.
Evaluate the technology infrastructure and applications to develop and execute a dynamic technology plan.
Develop and implement a safety and security plan focused on preparedness, response, and facility alignment.
Academics
Create an academic culture in which students identify, develop and share their talents and abilities to serve God, family, and community.
OBJECTIVES
Develop a Christ-centered academic framework that includes expectations for classroom culture, planning, instruction, and assessment and empowers students through the development of critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills.
Implement a comprehensive program for faculty and staff formation which includes faith development, observations and coaching, targeted professional development, collaborative professional learning communities, and mentoring opportunities.
Finance
Adopt and implement a modern, sustainable, and transparent financial strategy to ensure the mission and vision of Lake Catholic.
OBJECTIVES
Develop a strategic rolling 5-year financial plan to align resources and strategies, ensuring financial sustainability.
Refine and improve the annual budgeting process to support decision making.
Transparently share financial information to gain stakeholder trust and build confidence.
Establish a strategic process to address deferred maintenance.
Governance
Develop systems and structures to effectively collaborate across the Diocese of Cleveland, Lake Catholic High School, Board and Committees to promote visionary direction, demonstrate accountability, communicate transparently, and operate with efficiency.
OBJECTIVES
Improve the effectiveness and transparency of roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes across the Diocese of Cleveland, Lake Catholic High School, and its Board and Committees through professional learning, formation opportunities, and performance management.
Foster an effective dialogue between the Diocese of Cleveland and Lake Catholic High School, and its Board and Committees to ensure informative and trustworthy relationships through consistent communications, reporting, and analysis.
Student Life
Foster the development of the whole student, which includes spiritual, emotional, intellectual, mental, and social growth.
OBJECTIVES
Implement enhanced emotional, spiritual, social and academic support services, while also offering resources and guidance to help students navigate next steps after graduation.
Establish a framework where students are empowered to participate in meaningful school decisions and provide input to leadership.
Continuously research student interests to ensure Lake Catholic’s extracurricular offerings adapt to meet the students’ needs.
