The Greiners, who still call Ramona home, are the proud new owners of Mystery CafĂŠ Dinner Theater in San Diego. Shawn, Class of 1993, had performed with Mystery CafĂŠ under its previous ownership since 2001, acting in a dozen different productions, including the company’s current Z 4HĂ„H [OLTL production of “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Wake.â€? “The previous owner talked to us about purchasing Mystery CafĂŠ Dinner Theater a couple of years ago,â€? said Shawn. “We toyed with the idea but it didn’t come to fruition until January of this year. Unfortunately the previous owner was diagnosed with cancer and had to sell or close. “We couldn’t let something that had been such a big part of

my life for the last 13 years just close, so we decided to purchase.� Although she had dabbled in singing and acting as a child, Mary, a self-professed introvert, prefers to take a behind-the-scenes role these days, handling the company’s administrative needs. “I have always enjoyed the shows and now I get to help make them happen,� said the Class of 1998 graduate, who hopes to help build the business by drawing on her experience as a store manager for Star-

bucks. I’m taking charge of all things customer service because let’s face it, I know customer service,â€? said the 14year Starbucks veteran. “I leave the production and acting up to my capable and very handsome husband.â€? With Mystery CafĂŠ shows running only on Friday and Saturday nights, Shawn also has a day job. It comes as no surprise for a man who has been acting since he was 5 that his day job is also in the enter[HPUTLU[ Ă„LSK Shawn is the enter-

tainment and events manager for Legoland California, overseeing 18 live shows per year and about 50 events at the Carlsbad-based theme park. He joined Legoland as an actor in 1999 and worked his way up to his current lead role. In high school, Shawn joined musical theater and show choir.
