Course Outline

01
Can YAMA Can
Assignment 1
Make an abstract composition using any tin cans
Grade: 9

Feedback:
The work done on the can from the top is nice. In addition to the form and colors. The use of can tab is creative.

I was able to think out of the box and I tried different ways to deconstruct the tin can.

02
Rectilinear Volumes
Classwork 1
Create four plasticine compositions, each containing 3 rectilinear pieces.
Grade: 7.5
Assignment 2
Make a rectilinear composition inspired by “Guda Koster”.
Grade: 9
Feedback:
Reflection: They are similar in addition to the Z-axis being donate in all of them
It was my first time using plasticine so it was difficult to make it smooth

Feedback:
The idea is creative but the execution and the printing quality are poor.
Reflection:
It was nice getting inspired from another artists design to create our own design

03 Curvilinear Volumes
Classwork 2
Create four plasticine compositions, each containing 3 curvilinear pieces.
Grade: 8.5
Assignment 3
Recreate an architectural structure using balloons.
Grade: 7

Feedback:
They are all bottom heavy but the variety of shapes and proportions is good.
Reflection:

Feedback: Reflection:
The execution could have been better. The model is not neat and the base was incomplete.
It was hard shaping the balloons and making them hold without popping
04 Curvilinear Volumes & Rectilinear
Classwork 3
Create five plasticine compositions. Containing curvilinear and rectilinear shapes
Grade: 9
Assignment 4
Create a candle holder that is inspired by a region. Must have both curvilinear and rectilinear volumes
Grade: 7.5

Feedback:
The centralized model is creative. Nice expressions “GRID”

“RADIAL”

“LINEAR” “CLUSTERED” “CENTERALIZED”
Reflection:
Mixing both curvilinear and rectilinear was interesting

The material used should've different to make the model more durable. The abstract shapes represent the concept but don’t work together the best they can.
05 Fragments
Classwork 4
Create four plasticine compositions. Making fragment in them
Grade: 9
Assignment 5
Use a mono block chair and make fragments in it
Grade: 9.5

Feedback:
The edges are not smooth and combo
Reflection:
Using fake flowers would have worked better with the model and the nails contradict the idea of nature
Feedback: Reflection:
The assignment was interesting and it was fun to break the chair in different ways

06 Plannar Construction
Classwork 5
Create four compositions that express the colors (green-blue-red-yellow) using paper only
Grade: 9
Assignment 6
Create a model inspired from mashrabeya
Grade: 7

“Blue” “Green”

Yellow and green are so similar but the rest express the colors well
Reflection:

Feedback: Reflection:
It looks like its a product design it should been more abstract
Creating the mashrabeya pattern was the only difficult part
07 Lines In Space
Classwork 6
Use all the CW titles and Crete 6 models
Grade: 8

Feedback:
Used the key word in creative ways
Reflection:
Taking everything we learnt and doing it in one assignment was a nice warp up to the course

Midterm
Listen to the music and shape the wires depending on the feelings of the song
Grade: 78

Feedback:
A lot of them look the same or have the same idea

Reflection:
The music was so quick And I ran out of ideas on how to shape the wire

Feedback:
The location is nice and the composition but the foam made it look messy
