MEN’S BASKETBALL The Panthers, under Coach Kendal Wallace, finished the 2024-25 season 6-19 overall and 1-11 in Collegiate Conference of the South play. Junior forward Parker Gonzalez was named to the CCS All-Sportsmanship team. Sophomore guard Devin Dowell was named the CCS Player of the Week during the season. Sophomore guard Shaun Nichols led the team in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per game. Junior guard Brodie Scott averaged a team-leading 6.5 rebounds per game.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL The Panthers went 15-12 overall and 8-8 in CCS play during the 2024-25 season. LC defeated Maryville in the CCS Tournament before losing to eventual tournament champion Piedmont in the semifinals. Senior guard Zyhia Johnson was selected for the All-Tournament team. Johnson and junior guard Laila Battle were first-team selections on the CCS All-Conference team. Freshman Hope Harrell represented LaGrange on the CCS All-Sportsmanship team. Johnson led the CCS in scoring, averaging 18.2 points per game. Battle averaged 13.4 points per game and had a team-best 75 assists.
STEVE KENNER has been named new Head Coach for the LC Women’s Basketball program. Kenner currently serves as Director of the Panther Academic Center for Excellence (PACE) on campus.
No stranger to the world of collegiate basketball, Kenner has served in 12 different coaching roles from 1999-2023 in DI, DII and DIII. His experience is highlighted by head coaching stints at Emory & Henry College (2009-11), Southeastern Illinois College (2017-19), Pratt Community College (2020-21) and most recently at Auburn University at Montgomery (2021-23).
