Tricks to stay dry during rainy days The easiest advice you can get for staying dry during the rainy season is to of course don’t leave home. But, we all know that cannot happen all the time as we have classes to attend, work to fulfill, chores to do, people to meet, and so on and so forth. So whether for fun or for business, we will have to face the rain and will have to deal with the hassles that it may bring such as traffic, wet shoes and socks, floods, black out and so much more. Of course rain is not always bad as rain brings water for our consumption and for our plants to grow healthy. Below are some hacks you can do to keep dry this rainy season: Use your refrigerator to get your laundry dry – well you don’t place your clothes inside it but behind it. This has been one of the tricks (mostly students) do in replacement to expensive clothes dryers. Wet gadgets or electronics – when you know that you wont be able to avoid getting your gadget (mobile phone or tablet) wet, turn it off before leaving out for the rain and when you get home, put it in rice and let it settle for at least 20 hours. Wait for the rice to absorb the moisture before trying to turn it on again. Wear trash bags – although it might sound funny and embarrassing but trash bags can really act as your raincoat. Trash bags are designed to be waterproof so you can rely on it if you wear it well. If you have a backpack, you can also make use of a trash bag to make sure the content of your bag doesn’t get wet. Old newspapers – a lot of people still read newspapers and the old ones aren’t just for selling to the junk shop but can also be used to make sure that some of your things get dry well – such as your shoes, your bag, etc. Newspapers help absorb moisture so you can make the drying process faster. Bring some slippers or boots – most ladies already do this when they have to wear high heels all day but everyone can do it, even guys. When you know that there is a high possibility of rain, you should bring slippers or boots (which is much safer) so you wouldn’t get your shoes wet. Go window-‐shopping – if you feel that the rain would stop at some point, don’t force yourself into travelling in heavy rain (unless necessary) and just wait for it to stop. Check out the nearest mall and do a little bit of window-‐shopping so you won’t get bored or go grab some snack – coffee or something hot (anything that goes great in the cold weather).
