• The box office is open from 3 pm until 5 pm Monday through Friday and for one hour prior to each performance.
• The box office accepts cash, checks, and credit/debit cards.
• Single tickets become available for purchase 60 days before a production’s opening night.
Any ticket exchanges must be done through the box office in person or over the phone. Tickets may only be exchanged for another performance of the same show.
Please contact the box office to see if an exchange for a different date can be made. On rare occasions, LCT has allowed a ticket for one production to be used at a different production. If no exchanges can be made, the ticket price may be written off as a donation tax credit.
The use of cameras and/or recording equipment is strictly prohibited in the theatre. If you need to answer a call, please do so in the lobby so as to not disrupt the performance.
Flowers may be left in the box office for the stage manager to deliver or you may hand them to the cast member once they are in the lobby at the conclusion of the performance. Audience members are not allowed backstage.
If you have concerns about the weather facing an upcoming performance, please call the box office to double check that the performance will still continue. On rare occasions, LCT has canceled performances due to bad weather or cast conditions. If this occurs, exchanges or refunds will be issued.
Every individual, no matter the age, must have a ticket in order to attend the performance. If you would like to bring your children, please purchase seats for them even if they will be seated on someone’s lap.
Reservations for the general public begin at least 60 days before the opening of each show; season ticket reservations open the week prior. Patron donors may reserve their seats at any time. Please call the box office at 608-784-9292 if you have any questions.
Late arrivals will be seated at the house manager’s discretion during an appropriate point in the performance. If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the show begins, we reserve the right to release your seat(s) to someone else.
Hearing Loops allow people who wear hearing aids to directly receive the sound from the theatre’s sound system in their own hearing aids, much like Wi-Fi for laptops. If you wear hearing instruments, and they have a wireless receiver called a T-coil or Telecoil built-in, you will benefit from the hearing loop in our theatre. The T-coil program is accessed by pushing a button on your hearing aid. This T-coil setting has to be activated before use. Please consult your audiologist to ensure your t-coils are properly adjusted.
If you do not have a T-coil equipped hearing instrument, please feel free to stop by the box office to pick up a hearing assist device.
UFAH enhances the cultural life of the area by encouraging and providing opportunities for businesses to invest in the programs of local Arts and Humanities organizations in an efficient and effective way.

At La Crosse Community Theatre, our mission is to honor and celebrate our rich theatrical heritage while establishing a sustainable foundation for the years to come. With collaboration as a cornerstone, we are a dynamic, educational, and visionary force shaping the destiny of our community by adapting to the ever-changing arts landscape and showcasing excellence in local community entertainment.
If you’re anything like me, you probably have a soft spot for the sitcoms of the 1990s. When Steve first told me about his concept for Deer Camp, I was excited to see him bring this show to life. Shows like Friends, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Frasier offered more than just laughs—they were a reminder of the humor and warmth we can find in our daily lives, even when things don’t go quite as planned. Deer Camp carries that same charm: a hilarious blend of camaraderie, mishaps, and relatable characters that will have you laughing out loud and nodding in recognition.
At La Crosse Community Theatre, we believe in the power of stories to connect us, inspire us, and—just as importantly—offer a chance to escape the stresses of everyday life. Deer Camp fulfills our mission by bringing people together for a shared experience of joy. In this fast-paced world, it's a gift to take an evening to simply laugh and enjoy the company of others.
The story of four buddies grappling with their annual hunting trip is more than just comedy; it’s a celebration of friendship, tradition, and resilience. It’s these relatable moments that remind us why we love live theatre— because it mirrors our lives, our struggles, and our triumphs, all wrapped up in laughter.
I'd like to give a big thank you to Steven for directing this piece, Emma and Rhiannon for their choreography and music direction, the cast for being willing to go all in on the comedy, and the production team for bringing this crazy story to life.
We hope this production provides a moment of escape and a reminder that, sometimes, the best way to face life’s challenges is with a hearty laugh and the support of good friends. Rarely does a show sell out before it even opens, but Deer Camp holds the honor of being one of those rare shows. Thank you for being here and supporting La Crosse Community Theatre.
Enjoy the show, and let’s raise a toast to the joy of laughter and the magic of theatre!

When LCT asked me… a person who has aired his distaste for musicals quite loudly and quite proudly… to direct a Deer Camp, I said, “Whatchu Talkin’ bout, Willis!?”
Never one to shy away from attention (or potential glory) I threw caution to the wind and listened to my forefathers who implored me to “Treat Yo self!”
70-some pages later… “Pow! Right in the kisser!”“Kiss my GRITS,” it was one heck of a read! It felt familiar. It did not feel like a musical. It felt… like a sitcom. And I found that… “DY-NO-MITE!”
I was screaming “Joey Doesn’t share food,” and “Did I do that?” I saw Burt Chance, Teddy the Handyman, Schneider and Eric Foreman. Or Joey Tribbiani, George Costanza, Lucy Arnez and Johnny Rose if that is more your speed.
I read a very special episode of everyone’s favorite foursome. I found the loveable moron in Moose, the oblivious ‘everyman’ in Digger, the offbeat… potentially crazy… friend in Diesel, and the voice of unreasonable reason in Doogski. Essentially, in the pages of this MUSICAL, I found an ensemble I have spent my entire life researching. I grew up in front of a television set in the Upper Midwest. I know these guys better than I know myself.
“Just one more thing,” I want to shoot a big thank you out to the staff and team at LCT. I had a crazy idea for this show and what I saw in it. At any point they could’ve say “No soup for you” or “Up your nose with a rubber hose!” Instead, at every ask and every whim, they simply said “Make it so.’ Let no one say that LCT discourages artistic expression. Let no one say that LCT isn’t supportive of the Artist. “Homey don’t play that!”
Without further ado, “We have a really big show”. Grab some popcorn or some candy and even though “these pretzels are making me thirsty,” they are quite tasty. Sit back, relax and enjoy this very special episode of Deer Camp! “Yeah, that’s the ticket!”

James is excited to once again be working on an LCT show. Over the years he has appeared onstage in numerous productions such as Legally Blonde, Beauty and the Beast, and Titanic, as well as stage managing RENT, The Odd Couple, and staged reading Church and State. Despite the many shows over the years, this will be the first time James has appeared in a black box show. He would like to thank the cast, crew, production team, and especially the patrons for coming to see this ridiculously funny show and continuing to support the arts.

Sam plays the lovable character Moose in LCT’s production of Deer Camp. Sam would like to thank all those who support the local arts by coming to Deer Camp and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday season!
Mahlivanh is an actor & filmmaker who graduated from Viterbo with a BFA in theater this spring & is now working on a climate action-focused short film with the La Crosse Film Academy. Previous productions include Viterbo’s She Kills Monsters & LCT’s Oliver! and Dog Sees God. They also created a short film titled The Warehouse with Viterbo’s film club earlier this year, which premiered in May. They hope you enjoy Deer Camp in all its campy hilarity!
I love the theatre. I love actors and acting. I love storytelling. Thank you… ever so much… for taking the time to see what we have done. I want to thank Scott Vehrenkamp, Robert Reider, James Murphy, Sam Hanson, Mahlivahn Fleckenstein, Noah Garcia, Rhiannon Baasch, Emma Frayer, Nicholas Martin, Theresa Smerud, Lex Violette, Bonnie Bratina, Srini Chandna and everyone involved with Deer Camp in any way! “Bye bye, Little Sebastian!”

Rhiannon is very grateful for the opportunity to be the music director for Deer Camp! She works for the School District of La Crosse as a general music teacher at Summit Elementary and Coulee Montessori. She has previously been seen on stage at LCT as Emmy in A Doll’s House Part 2 and as the Milkmaid in Oliver!. She has also worked with LCT’s Star Academy as a camp manager for Lion King Kids and as co-music director for Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Lex serves as the Technical Director at LCT, having joined the team in 2021 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She has played a pivotal role in numerous productions, with favorites including directing the staged readings of Church and State and Come Back, as well as her work on Dog Sees God (Patricia/TD) and The Odd Couple (Scenic Designer/TD). Lex sincerely thanks the audience for their support and hopes you enjoy the show! Be sure to catch White Christmas, for which Lex is the Technical Director, running in our Lyche Theatre starting December 6th
Noah is excited to be working on his fourth show with LCT! Previously he's been seen in Dog Sees God (Van), The Lion in Winter (John) and A Nice Family Christmas (Carl), but this is his first time working behind the scenes! He is very excited to be given this opportunity to stage manage such an incredible cast. Noah would like to thank his family, friends, LCT and his cat Hermie for always being so supportive. Enjoy the show!
Emma loves staying involved in LCT through choreography, costume design, and volunteering wherever needed. She would like to thank her family for supporting her lifetime interest and her husband for putting up with a crazy schedule.
THERESA SMERUD (Costume Designer)
has been involved with LCT since she was 10 years old, when she was cast in The Music Man. Over the years, she participated on stage, but then gravitated to working with costumes. She designed costumes on and off over the years, even before a costume shop was established, with volunteers meeting at her home. Theresa has been LCT’s volunteer photographer, capturing most of the productions for the archives and PR. She is married to Scott and has raised five children, three of whom grew up at LCT and are working in some capacity of the arts. Theresa can’t wait to share LCT with her grandchildren, making it a four-generation love affair.
BONNIE JO BRATINA (Props Designer)
Bonnie Jo has been involved with LCT since she moved to the area back in 1997, sometimes on stage, but often backstage doing props. Thanks so much to this wonderful group of people for letting me play with my creative side, while drinking lots of beer to “make” all the necessary empties. I am thrilled to add my small contribution to this wonderful show that the actors and production team have brought to you.
Loves being in the world of sound at LCT. He relished every moment while working as the sound board operator on Mamma Mia!, since he grew up listening to ABBA. He also had a great deal of fun working as the board op for Fools and Newsies. Some of his most recent sound designs include this season's production of Oliver! Previously, he did sound design on multiple school plays. His whole family enjoys theater and music and he is particularly glad to have his son and daughter as the first auditors of his sound design before he finalizes it. When he is not at the theater, he works at SAP as a software Engineer.
