About the School of PNG

For nearly two decades, the School of PNG has offered training and education to students interested in working in the growing gas industry in Northeast Pennsylvania. The School was first located in Susquehanna County but relocated to Lackawanna’s new Tunkhannock Center in the Fall 2021 semester. The Center is also home to traditional college degree programs. Our associate degree and certificate programs answer the need for a trained workforce. Careers include the drilling and completion of wells along with petroleum and natural gas distribution. Affordable. Local. Career-Focused.

Tuition at Lackawanna is less than $17,000 per year, and graduates may earn more than $61,000 in entry-level positions! Lackawanna College’s Tunkhannock Center is located near the heart of Marcellus Shale drilling operations in Northeast Pennsylvania. Location is everything. As a PNG student, you’ll have access to internships and careers with major oil and gas organizations. Students often receive job offers before graduation and start working in the field right after graduation.

Program Expands to Towanda Center

In Fall 2022, our School of PNG will begin offering some core Courses at our Towanda Center, as students will work to complete their studies in this exciting and rapidly expanding field.

If you’re attending high school in Wyoming County and the surrounding areas, you can start taking college classes before you graduate! Get a head-start on your credits and career by asking about Dual Enrollment programs at Lackawanna. Credits are offered at a fraction of the traditional per-credit rate, so you’ll save time and money. Expand Your Options

Working in the energy industry can be a physically demanding career, so you’re encouraged to come back to any of Lackawanna’s seven convenient locations for advanced degrees. Several bachelor’s degrees are available online through the Tunkhannock Center, including:  Accounting  Business  Criminal Justice  Human Services
