Lacey Fire District Three (LFD3) provides Fire, Emergency Medical, and Rescue series to the City of Lacey and surrounding unincorporated areas. LFD3 has a population of approximately 100,000 residents and responds to more than 15,000 requests for services annually. This means that one of our crews is responding to an incident somewhere in the District or supporting one of our nearby partners over 30 times each day. In partnership with Thurston County Medic One, the District provides one of the highest rates of survival for lifethreatening cardiac events anywhere in the nation. In addition to emergency and non-emergency incident response activities, LFD3
is also heavily involved in public education, prevention and outreach activities. We encourage you to contact us or stop by our Headquarters during normal business hours if we can assist you in any way. LFD3 is governed by a Board of five Fire Commissioners who are elected at-large for six year terms. The Commissioners appoint the Fire Chief to manage the day-to-day operations of the District. A warm welcome from the Lacey South Sound Chamber Board of Directors and our active Chamber community. As the voice of business in Lacey, WA since 1961, our Chamber works to promote Lacey as a diverse, vibrant, and economically sustainable business community. We provide resources and support small and large business owners, entrepreneurs and business executives. We value our strong partnerships with City of Lacey, Thurston Economic Development Council, North Thurston Public Schools, St. Martin’s University, South Puget Sound Community College, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. My husband Tom and I grew up, raised our family, and have always loved the area and all it has to offer. Tom and I were small business owners for several years and members of the Lacey Chamber. We received valuable business information from the Chamber, and an amazing amount of support from the members. They stood beside us as we grew our business and we’ve made life-long friendships. I can say with great honor and respect, Lacey is home to many service men and women. We continue to look for ways to support and provide needed services to those who so bravely and honorably served our nation. The Lacey Veterans Services Hub, which opened in 2016, continues to provide vital programs and services to local Veterans. In 2019, the Hub provided 7,500 client appointments to South Puget Sound Veterans for mental health care, jobs training, housing, and access to VA benefits.
Another great community accomplishment is the opening of the Lacey Makerspace in 2019. The space provides a collaborative environment for entrepreneurs, business owners, students, and community members to gain hands-on design and manufacturing skills. This project is an important community collaboration, creating a bridge between education and economic development.

KIDWILER-DOLAN SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION We pride ourselves in working on raising money in honor of Ray Kidwiler who was founding member of the Lacey Chamber of Commerce and served two years as President in 1963 & 1964. Ray was a great believer in education for young people and felt that any student deserving further education upon graduating from high school should be able to obtain it. After his death, Mrs Ray Kidwiler established, the Ray Kidwiler Scholarship fund in 1972 in memory of her husband. Monies are raised at our monthly forums and annual fall auction by having raffles. A special thank you to our generous business members that contribute auction items and donate items on a monthly basis at our forum meetings. Your contributions help benefit the Kidwiler Scholarship program.

Our annual Golf Classic Tournament is held at the outstanding Golf Club at Hawks Prairie; with over 100 golfers and several interactive hole sponsors, this tournament is a great event to either participate in as a golfer, sponsor, or volunteer. Enjoy a lunch and award ceremony following the tournament.
SOUTH SOUND BBQ FESTIVAL We welcome all to the mouth-watering world of BBQ! The event will include an assortment of food vendors from around the South Sound. There will be non-food vendors providing giveaways, live entertainment, a chicken wing eating contest, beer & wine garden, and a kids’ zone! This free community event takes place in July of every year.
