Lacey has over 1,200 acres of parkland and open spaces — plenty for all to enjoy! For everyone's safety and park enjoyment, you must keep your dog on a leash when visiting one of our parks, even if you don't see other park visitors.
The rule is intended to protect the health and safety of the public AND your pet. Using a leash will benefit you, your neighborhood or community, and your pet. Here are a few reasons why you must keep your dog on a leash while visiting our parks:
Dogs can get spooked and run away, creating a potentially dangerous situation for them.
People and/or other dogs get scared of dogs.
Park visitors may want to enjoy the park without having to deal with your dog.
Dogs can be unpredictable in unknown situations.
Park visitors who want to meet your dog will have a proper opportunity to do so, without any surprises.
If you encounter a dog off-leash in a park or if you experience an issue or attack, please contact Joint Animal Services at (360) 352-2510 or Shelter@JointAnimalServices.org for assistance.

The Lacey Museum is on the move! Our current museum, located in the Russell House on Lacey Street is currently closed.
The museum will re-open its new location on 6th Ave. at the Bell Town Centre early next year. The existing museum location will become a dedicated research center where people can explore the museum library, archives, subject files, genealogy collections, and more.
We look forward to seeing you in the new space!
