What’s in a Name? Growing up, I had always knew what my name meant. I remember the first time I heard about how I was named. It’s a pretty interesting story, but in order to tell it, I have to start from the beginning. My mother was born and raised on the island of Pulusuk. At that time, it was very rare for a teenager to leave their home for the purpose of furthering their education. For some reason, my mother wanted to do just that, but she did not have the funds to just get up and go. She literally had to work for it. She ended up getting a scholarship, and when she finally had enough money, she had decided to come to Guam, much to her parent's disapproval. With the help of her uncle, and a few others, her opportunity came. She finally came to Guam when she was 19 years old. She started classes at the University of Guam, and mind you, she had very few relatives on Guam, but she had no way of contacting them. During her first semester, she stayed in the Dorms, but during her second semester, she was no longer able to stay in the dorms. One her f
