NCM 121: Disaster Nursing One of the many wonderful courses I took in Nursing. This is the course that taught me the concepts and practices of disaster nursing. This course helped me hone my knowledge, skills, and values that will surely help me become a holistic, resilient, and responsive nurse who is ready to help and performed her duty.

PERSONAL GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT Honestly, at first, I am thinking about why we have a disaster nursing course when you can take an extra class outside university after finishing a bachelor's degree. But little did I know that I will really enjoy this course. In disaster nursing, I learned about the different concepts and practices of the nurses during a disaster. I also acquire knowledge and skills relevant not only during a grand disaster but also during those ordinary days and small emergencies that may happen at home. I realized that this is an important part of our training as future nurses because disasters can happen anytime.

Your presence always feels warm, bringing all the colors of summer.

To you who patiently walk with me throughout the rain while waiting for summer, thank you! You made sure that I am guided and equipped with all the knowledge I need so that soon when I walk alone, I will not be swayed. Thank you for teaching me to work hard while waiting for summer. When the world turned to endless winter, you never left us. Thank you. Even when you, yourself, felt the lingering coldness of the winter, you never let us walk alone. All the lessons, stories, and memories we shared will be forever my guide. Thank you for patiently cultivating this small bud until she turned into a beautiful flower fully blooming. Now she is almost ready to face the world.

To Doc H, I cannot thank you enough for the all things you have done for me from community health nursing to disaster nursing. Thank you for teaching me everything I need. Thank you for sharing stories with me. Thank you for laughing with us. I really enjoy my community rotation because you made it enjoyable and bearable for us. But what I am most thankful for is that you made me, us feel that we have a father in SNAMS, that father who always looks to us with so much pride and faith in us. We can share our victories and defeats with you. Thank you. This section of the paper is never enough to tell you how thankful for you but still I wanna say thank you Doc H. You will always be part of my success.

To Ma'am Eli, Thank you for letting us experience how to be taught by you. Sadly, we never got the chance to really have bonded with you during face-to-face classes but still thank you for deciding to teach while we are still here. hihi. Thank you for making our nursing life fun and bearable. You will always be a big part of my success.

Thank you for always being cool with a lot of things. I always admire your heart and passion for our profession, especially in the community. I aspire your heart toward serving people. I really enjoyed our ocular visit during our community health nursing. Thank you for being with us since second year. You are a big part of my nursing life too.

To my SNAMS Family, I have always dreamed of studying at one of the well-known universities in Manila.

That is why I don't understand at first why God decided to bring me back to Pampanga. But now, I thank God every day for bringing me back here because God knows what are the things I will be missing if I haven't been enrolled here at SNAMS. I thank Doc Choy for persuading my tita to enroll me at HAU SNAMS and thank you for building our confidence as a nurse that we are not just a nurse, we are a NURSE. I want to be as confident and great as you in providing care for my future patients. I want to thank SNAMS for helping me realized my dreams and calling. I remember enrolling in college with nothing in my mind because all I know is that I want to be a doctor. I never imagined studying nursing but it was during Doc Pre's class, Fundamental of Nursing that I realized that I am where I should be.

Realizing that put into me tears which fueled me until now to really finish nursing and even medicine for my future patients. I also want to thank Maam Rhoda, thank you for being our mother in SNAMS. I remember crying myself to sleep during my first months in Pampanga because it was the first time I am living far from my mother but you made me feel that I have a mother near that is why I made it through those sad days. Thank you for all your kind words and thank you for believing in me. I also want to thank Sir Noy, this section of my portfolio will never be enough but I know you know how thankful I am to you from the first time we saw you to being our lifeline adviser, our professors, life coach, our best chairman, and everything. You are really an amazing professor and a nurse I will always aspire to be like you in the future.

To Maam Crisa, you will always have a special place in my heart because it was you who helped me overcome my fear of facing my patient. Also, I will never forget how you supported and encouraged me during my worse days when I almost moved out of SNAMS. I don't know if you can still remember that, it might be just an ordinary situation for you, I don't know but for me, that was really an important day. Thank you, ma'am Crisa. To all of my professors, you all hold a special place in my heart.

Know that all your kind words, lessons, reminders, and all will always be in my heart. Doc Jo thank you for making our class always light. Doc Belen, Thank you for sharing your expertise to us and for always inspiring us to be the best nurses of our generation. Doc Jen, thank you for always making sure that we will never forget all your teachings, may it be about life or about nursing. Ma'am Cha thank you for making your subject easy for us because you always believe in our capabilities. Doc Louie, thank you for making our class during NHA fun and easy to remember.
