Programme South Africa 2027

Day 1 – Sunday 2 May 2027

Arrive Johannesburg

Johannesburg, South Africa’s vibrant “City of Gold,” offers visitors an exciting blend of culture, history, and modern urban energy. Arrive early, and explore world-class museums like the Apartheid Museum or Constitution Hill. Wander through trendy neighbourhoods such as Maboneng for art or Rosebank and Linden for street markets. Visit Braamfontein, and enjoy the city’s buzzing food scene ranging from traditional South African dishes to global cuisine.

We start our tour in style at the 5-star Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa which began life as a grand private estate once owned by the Oppenheimer families. Fairlawns is a serene 10-acre property with stables, rolling lawns, and a manor house that gave the hotel its name.

The estate was purchased by the Thacker Family in the late 1990s, and was transformed into an intimate luxury hideaway

– opening in 1998 with just a dozen courtyard suites, a bar, and a small restaurant. The original manor was remodelled into a stately Palladian-style residence surrounded by mature trees and gardens, creating the impression of a countryside retreat in the heart of bustling Sandton.

Over the years, Fairlawns expanded, adding themed suites, villa-style accommodations, and its iconic Balinese-inspired spa, tucked into bamboo-lined gardens. Today, still closely associated with the Thacker family, Fairlawns stands as one of Johannesburg’s most exclusive boutique retreats – a blend of refined heritage, eclectic design, and tranquil greenery that has earned it multiple luxury hotel awards.

Welcome dinner with South African wines – a wonderful way to start our tour together!

Day 2 – Monday 3 May 2027

Kruger National Park & Jock Safari Lodge

We transfer today to Kruger: The wild heart of South Africa –one of the world’s greatest safari destinations and a dream for nature lovers. Spanning nearly two million hectares of pristine wilderness, Kruger offers an unbeatable chance to experience Africa’s iconic Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo – alongside hundreds of other mammals, vibrant birdlife, ancient baobabs, and breathtaking landscapes that shift from open savannah to lush riverine forests.

We spend four ‘dream’ nights in Kruger at our favourite Jock Safari Lodge. Nestled deep in the southern reaches of Kruger National Park, Jock is more than just a luxury safari stay – it’s a living legend. Perched where the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers converge, this 6,000-hectare private concession gives you exclusive riverbed access for a real, untamed Big 5 experience.

Built in homage to the classic tale Jock of the Bushveld, the

lodge marries old-world charm with refined comfort. The main lodge comprises of 12 thatched suites, each with its own deck, plunge pool, and a sala for optional sleep-outs under the stars.

In addition there is Fitzpatrick’s, a three-suite villa. PaR nz takes over the entire property during our stay.

Imagine heart-stopping safari drives, guided wilderness walks, and moments of pure serenity, strolling past ancient Bushmen rock art or spotting Big 5 animals from quiet riverbeds, or even the lodge balconies! Back at camp, unwind at the Relaxation Retreat – complete with a sauna, steam room, and hydrotherapy bath – or sip sundowners by a fire pit as the African sky turns to gold. Post safari dining is to be enjoyed with meals shared under thatched roofs or beneath the stars, complemented by fine South African wine and warm PaR nz / South African hospitality.

Day 3 – Tuesday 4 May 2027

Golf Leopard Creek – 18 Hole Championship

Rated no #2 with a 5-star rating in South Africa – today will be a treat!

This is a world-class golf experience in the African wild at Leopard Creek Country Club, one of South Africa’s most prestigious and dramatic courses.

Set on the edge of Kruger National Park, this private exclusive championship course – designed by Gary Player –blends immaculate fairways with breathtaking views over the Crocodile River, where elephants, buffalo, and hippos often wander into sight.

Every hole is crafted for strategic, rewarding play, but it’s the thrilling signature moments – like the iconic par-5 overlooking Kruger’s open plains that make Leopard Creek truly unforgettable.

It is written that the luxury, tranquillity, and raw wilderness combination creates a golfing experience unlike anywhere else in the world.

Day 4 – Wednesday 5 May 2027

Safari – Jock Lodge style!

At Jock Safari Lodge, you’re deep in a 6,000 hectare private concession in southern Kruger National Park – meaning fewer vehicles, more space, and richer wildlife experiences.

With no golf planned today, you have the option of two guided open vehicle game drives – morning and evening – taking you across rugged terrain and dry riverbeds, giving you a real shot at spotting the Big Five, plus a host of other iconic species.

If you want to feel even closer to nature, you can do wilderness walks with qualified guides – walking through bushveld, following spoor, and even discovering ancient Bushman rock art up to 3,000 years old.

Day 5 – Thursday 6 May 2027

With our unique partnership, PaR nz offers two rounds at this outstanding course – enjoy your second round at Leopard Creek. A special final dinner is planned for our last night in Kruger National Park.

Day 6 – Friday 7 May 2027

Flight to Victoria Falls

Sadly we depart Kruger National Park but with expectations of the next three nights at Victoria Falls. We transfer to nearby Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and fly from Nelspruit to Livingstone.

Check into the Royal Livingstone Hotel for three nights.

Nestled on the banks of the Zambezi River in Zambia’s Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, the Royal Livingstone Hotel blends timeless elegance with untamed wilderness. Just a short walk from the thundering Victoria Falls, the resort offers free, unlimited access to this natural wonder – a frontrow seat to one of the world’s most awe-inspiring sights.

With beautifully appointed rooms and suites, each comes with its own private veranda, allowing you to unwind in comfort while watching zebras, giraffes, and impalas roam freely on the manicured lawns. Yes, we are not joking – these animals roam free within the grounds of the hotel.

Tonight we enjoy a cruise on the mighty Zambezi river with drinks and canapes included as we are on crocodile and hippo watch.

Flowing powerfully through the heart of southern Africa, the Zambezi River near Livingstone offers a spectacular blend of wild energy and serene beauty. Just downstream of Victoria Falls – Mosi-oa-Tunya, “The Smoke That Thunders” – the river carves through the dramatic Batoka Gorge, creating world-class rapids and a playground for adventure seekers.

From Livingstone, visitors can drift along the tranquil channels on a sunset river cruise, as we will do, but for those chasing thrills there’s white-water rafting on Grade 4-5 rapids, kayaking, and heart-stopping riverboarding. In the dry season, when water levels drop, you can access Livingstone Island and even swim in the legendary Devil’s Pool, a natural rock ledge at the very edge of the Falls.

Day 7 – Saturday 8 May 2027

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

The tour crosses into Zimbabwe, with an interesting border experience anticipated, and lunch at the nearby The Lookout Café included.

Victoria Falls – Zimbabwe: Known locally as “Mosi-oa-Tunya” – “The Smoke That Thunders” – Victoria Falls is one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders, straddling the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia. On the Zimbabwean side, the falls reveal their full grandeur: the wide, thunderous curtain of water plunging 108 meters into the Zambezi Gorge, sending mist and rainbows soaring into the sky.

Visitors to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe can explore a network of wellmaintained viewpoints and trails within the Victoria Falls National Park, offering panoramic vistas of the cascading water and the surrounding rainforest. The area combines natural wonder with vibrant local culture, including numerous crafts markets.

Day 8 – Sunday 9 May 2027

Victoria Falls, Zambia

The Victoria Falls are renowned for their immense width and height: about 1,708 meters (5,604 ft) wide and 108 meters (354 ft) high, making them one of the largest and most spectacular waterfalls on Earth. Guided tour again included on the Zambezi side.

On the Zambian side, visitors can access Livingstone Island, the very spot where David Livingstone first viewed the falls in 1855. From here, you can experience the famous Devil’s Pool, a natural rock pool right at the edge of the waterfall – safe to swim in during the dry season.

This side of the falls is generally less crowded than the Zimbabwean side and offers unique activities such as guided island tours, helicopter flights, and canoe trips along the upper Zambezi. The surrounding rainforest thrives on the constant mist, creating lush walkways and boardwalks with spectacular vantage points of the cascading water.

Wildlife is abundant along the Zambezi banks, with hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous bird species often visible during river safaris or sunset cruises. The Zambian side offers a blend of thrill, natural beauty, and tranquillity, giving a more intimate encounter with one of the world’s greatest waterfalls.

Day 9 – Monday 10 May 2027

Fly to Cape Town

Short trip back to Livingstone Airport before we fly to Cape Town. Checking into the Cape Grace Hotel, for four nights.

Cape Town, South Africa’s “Mother City,” is a stunning coastal metropolis where natural beauty, culture, and history collide. Nestled between the iconic Table Mountain and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean, Cape Town offers dramatic landscapes, pristine beaches, and vibrant neighbourhoods. From the summit of Table Mountain for panoramic city views, to the colourful streets of Bo-Kaap, or the bustling waterfront at the Victoria & Albert Waterfront, full of shops, restaurants, and entertainment.

The Cape Grace Hotel opened in 1996 on a private quay at Cape Town’s vibrant V&A Waterfront. Cape Grace Hotel has long been a symbol of timeless elegance and South African charm. Originally envisioned by the Brand family, the hotel was designed to blend luxury with local heritage, offering guests sweeping views of Table Mountain and the bustling harbour.

In 2024, Cape Grace emerged from a transformative nine-month renovation under Fairmont management, crafted by the acclaimed design firm 1508 London. The redesign celebrates South African culture and craftsmanship, from locally inspired décor to curated artworks, while maintaining the warmth and sophistication that have made it a landmark for nearly three decades. Today, with its Green Key certification and modern luxury amenities, Cape Grace continues to be a premier destination where history, heritage, and elegance meet – the perfect base for exploring Cape Town in style. And we do!

Day 10 – Tuesday 11 May 2027

Steenberg – Golf & Wine Tasting

Set in the lush Constantia Valley, Steenberg Golf Club offers a truly serene golfing experience framed by vineyards, wetlands, pine forest, and the backdrop of Table Mountain. Designed by famed South African architect Peter Matkovich, the 18-hole, par72 layout plays naturally around the estate’s historic features and terrain

One of its most striking holes is the par-3 14th, which boasts a massive 76-metre green – the largest in Africa – and is surrounded by indigenous shrubs that echo the mountain range’s contours. The course also features a signature 7th hole, a par 3 with an island-style green protected by water and bunkers.

Steenberg’s design is a hybrid: traditional “bump and run” play is possible around the greens, thanks to bent grass, while strategically placed bunkers and waterways challenge precision.

The fairways are lush with kikuyu grass, giving them a soft, forgiving feel.

The club is well ranked (49th in the SA Top 100) and lends itself to both serious golfers and those who want to mix a round with a wine estate escape.

After golf, we will enjoy wine tastings from the historic Steenberg Vineyards at the Steenberg Wine Experience & Cellar.

The Steenberg estate is the oldest registered farm in the Cape, founded in 1682, giving our wine tour real heritage and charm.

The vineyard covers 60 hectares of vines – 70% planted with white grapes (Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon) and the rest with reds like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Malbec, and even Nebbiolo. The vineyards sit on decomposed granite soils; the farm’s proximity to the Atlantic brings cool breezes, which help produce elegant, mineral-driven wines. Let’s enjoy.

Day 11 – Wednesday 12 May 2027

Sightseeing Cape Town

Table Mountain. A visit by Cable Car to Table Mountain is included along with an optional afternoon tour to Robben Island or Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.

Table Mountain is a striking, flat-topped mountain that dominates the skyline of Cape Town, rising to about 1,085 metres above sea level. Its distinctive “table” shape is due to nearly horizontal sandstone layers shaped by wind and water erosion over the millennia.

The mountain sits within Table Mountain National Park, a protected area established in 1998 and covering over 220 square kilometres. This park is part of the Cape Floral Region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its botanical richness, especially fynbos – a unique shrubland vegetation found nowhere else. On the mountain alone, there are more than 1,400 plant species, many of which are endemic.

In terms of wildlife, Table Mountain is home to creatures like dassies (rock hyrax), porcupines, mongooses, and a rare amphibian called the Table Mountain Ghost Frog. Birds of prey such as rock kestrels and jackal buzzards also soar above its cliffs.

The PaR nz group will travel by cable car ride taking around 5 minutes to the summit with a rotating cabin for panoramic views of Cape Town, Table Bay, and the Atlantic. There are also over 350 hiking routes, ranging from relatively easy paths to very challenging climbs.

One of the mountain’s famous phenomena is the “tablecloth” – a cloud that drapes over the flat plateau when moist winds blow from the southeast.

Geologically, Table Mountain is composed of very old sandstone and granite, telling a story of deep time and ancient landscapes.

Robben Island. Sitting in Table Bay just off the coast of Cape Town, Robben Island is a small, rocky island with a complex and deeply symbolic past. Its name comes from the Dutch word for “seals,” once abundant in the surrounding waters. Over the centuries, it has served many roles: a leper colony, a mental asylum, a military outpost during World War II, and most famously, a highsecurity prison during the apartheid era.

From the 1960s to the early 1990s, Robben Island held many political prisoners, including Nelson Mandela, who spent 18 of his 27 years of incarceration there. Today, the former prison is a living museum, run by the Robben Island Museum, with daily guided tours often led by former inmates themselves. Explore the prison complex, see Mandela’s cell, walk the limestone quarries where prisoners worked, and learn about the island’s role in South Africa’s journey to democracy. In 1999, Robben Island was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognised for its profound testimony to the struggle against racial segregation and oppression.

Day 12 – Thursday 13 May 2027

Golf Erinvale

Erinvale is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by golfing legend Gary Player and opened in 1995. The layout is beautifully strategic: the front nine plays through relatively flat, parkland terrain with narrow fairways, while the back nine climbs into the foothills of the Helderberg Mountains, offering sweeping views over False Bay, nearby vineyards, and nature reserve.

The course is known for its large greens, carefully placed bunkers, and water hazards, making it both visually stunning and technically demanding. It’s a par-72 course with fairways of kikuyu grass and greens of bent / Poa.

Erinvale has hosted major tournaments, including the 1996 World Cup of Golf. Situated in a secure, lowdensity estate, Erinvale combines luxury living with toptier golf surrounded by the Helderberg Mountains, wine estates, and the natural beauty of the Cape Winelands.

Day 13 Friday –14 May 2027

Golf De Zalze – Oude Werf Hotel

We depart Cape Town for Stellenbosch for two nights at The Oude Werf Hotel and wine tasting and lunch at Ernie Els Wine Estate. But first golf, with a South African Braai to finish the day.

De Zalze Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole championship course designed by the renowned architect Peter Matkovich, set on the De Zalze Winelands Estate just outside Stellenbosch. The course winds through vineyards, olive groves, lavender fields, and alongside the oak-lined Blaauwklippen River, offering a true picturepostcard winelands golf experience.

It’s a mixed-style course – mostly parkland – with water hazards playing a strategic part on several holes. The estate also includes historic buildings dating back to 1838, giving it a sense of heritage and charm.

De Zalze is tournament-worthy: it co-hosted the 2006 Eisenhower Trophy and the 2006 Espirito Santo Trophy, attracting top-level amateur golfers.

The Oude Werf Hotel is perched on historic Church Street in the heart of Stellenbosch, and is widely regarded as the oldest continuously operating hotel in South Africa, with roots dating back more than 300 years. Boasting a blend of vintage charm with modern comfort, it features Georgian and Victorian architecture, antique furnishings, and a peaceful vine-covered courtyard with a pool. A smaller boutique style hotel with only 58 rooms, the hotel offers classic South African and international cuisine in its 1802 restaurant.

Historically, the hotel stands on the site of Stellenbosch’s first church (1687). It has survived multiple fires, been rebuilt, and restored – blending its rich heritage with green hospitality practices.

Day 14 – Saturday 15 May 2027

Ernie Els Wine Estate

Today we visit the personal wine estate of one of South Africa’s greatest golfers – lunch and wine-tasting is included.

Ernie Els Wines, is a premier wine estate nestled on the sun-kissed slopes of the Helderberg Mountains in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Founded by golfing legend Ernie Els, the estate seamlessly blends world-class winemaking with the sophistication and charm of the Cape Winelands.

The estate’s vineyards, perched at 250 meters above sea level, benefit from the cooling Atlantic breezes, producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a curated selection of varietals. Guided by the expertise of winemaker Louis Strydom, the estate offers a portfolio that includes the iconic Signature wine, the distinguished Major Series, the Proprietor’s Range, and the approachable Big Easy Range — each crafted to express the unique terroir of Stellenbosch.

As well as tasting and lunch – we can have a wee golf challenge at the estate’s golf-inspired chipping green or admire Ernie’s storied career in the Trophy Room.

Award-winning architecture, exceptional wines, and an unforgettable experience make Ernie Els Wines a must-visit destination in the heart of South Africa’s wine country – we are delighted to add this to the line up in 2027!

Day 15 – Sunday 16 May 2027

On to Fancourt

We are set for a grand finale on the 2027 South African Golf Tour with four nights at the award winning golf resort of Fancourt.

Nestled in the heart of South Africa’s iconic Garden Route, Fancourt is a luxury escape where heritage meets lifestyle in the shadows of the majestic Outeniqua Mountains. Spread across 613 hectares of beautifully landscaped countryside, this resort offers a serene and sophisticated setting just 7 km from George Airport.

With a storied past dating back to 1860, the estate’s centre-piece is the elegant Manor House, originally built by Henry Fancourt White. The Manor House, now a national monument, has been lovingly restored into a boutique hotel, preserving its classic charm while offering modern comforts.

Fancourt is revered as one of the world’s premier golf destinations, boasting three championship courses—The Links, Montagu, and Outeniqua—all designed by Gary Player.

The Links course, inspired by traditional British links golf, is a signature piece of the resort and has even earned international environmental accreditation as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

The Fancourt complex spans over 100 rooms and suites, six restaurants, a popular spa featuring a heated Roman bath, steam rooms, sauna, jacuzzi, and a modern gym, multiple swimming pools, tennis courts, hiking and cycling trails, and even bird-watching opportunities.

Settle in and tonight we meet for a Fancourt Pizza!

Day 16 – Monday 17 May 2027

Golf Fancourt – Montagu or Outeniqua Course

Today’s round will be at either of Fancourt’s Montagu or Outeniqua courses – and will be confirmed closer to tour dates when the Fancourt 2027 tee sheets open.

We preview them both. The Montagu Course was originally designed by Gary Player; underwent a significant redesign in 2004 by David McLay Kidd. The redesign added length (430 meters), new holes (1st and 9th), reworked bunkers, and more visible water features. In 2018, further refinements improved playability: fairway landing areas enlarged, bunkering reduced, greens resurfaced, and landscaping cleared to open up lines.

Montagu is known for superb conditioning and fast, firm greens, a tree-lined layout, with rolling fairways set in an indigenous landscape. Water comes into play: there’s a river that winds through parts of the course. The Signature hole is the par-3 17th which has been compared to the 12th at Augusta National.

The Outeniqua Course was also designed by Gary Player - The name “Outeniqua” coming from the nearby mountain range, giving the course its backdrop. The layout is more “relaxed” in its design, though not without challenge.

More forgiving than Montagu: wider fairways, less punishing than Montagu’s tight lines but water hazards are significant with 11 holes having water features. Bunkering is well distributed from tee to green and the course as terrain changes with elevation shifts, tree-lined boundaries, and a mix of tighter and more open holes.

The closing stretch is memorable: includes a par-3 with a peninsula green, a downhill par-5 that’s reachable in two but guarded by water, and a short par-4 to finish.

Day 17 – Tuesday 18 May 2027

Golf @ Pinnacle Point

Experience golf at Pinnacle Point – South Africa’s cliff-Top masterpiece. A course like no other!

Perched dramatically along the pristine Garden Route near Mossel Bay, Pinnacle Point Golf Course offers an unforgettable golf experience where ocean vistas meet worldclass design. This 18-hole, Par-72 championship course, designed by Peter Matkovich and Darren Clarke, weaves seamlessly into the natural fynbos, creating a stunning backdrop for every shot.

Seven of Pinnacle Point’s holes are carved along cliffs, with four played directly over the Indian Ocean. Each hole presents a perfect balance of strategic challenge and visual spectacle, from the iconic cliff-edge Par-3 7th to the dramatic Par-3 13th, where your approach soars over a chasm to a doubletiered green.

Why Pinnacle Point?

• Unrivalled Scenery: Dramatic cliffs, panoramic ocean views, and indigenous fynbos.

• Championship Challenge: 18 holes of strategic, beautifully contoured golf.

• Award-Winning Design: Recognized as one of South Africa’s finest golf experiences.

• Wildlife & Nature: Play amidst a 400-hectare nature reserve, spotting native fauna and, occasionally, whales offshore.

South Africa Golf, Safari, Victoria Falls & More

Day 18 – Wednesday 19 May 2027

Golf @ The Links Fancourt

Arguably the masterpiece at Fancourt – The Links was also designed by Gary Player, with help from Phil Jacobs and Fancourt owner Dr. Hasso Plattner.

Built on a former airfield – 750,000+ cubic meters of earth were sculpted to create a true links-style terrain – Player himself called it one of his greatest achievements. Redesigned or tweaked over time; for example, Jack Nicklaus suggested changing the 18th from a par-4 to a par-5 early on.

The course features true links-style design with undulating terrain, dune-like ridges, open fairways, and pot bunkers. Fairways are unusually made from a mix of cool-season grasses: Kentucky Blue, Rye, Fescue, and Bent. Greens are primarily Bent grass, giving a firm, fast putting surface.

Look out for Hole 2 (Par 3): Downhill, large green, Hole 10 (“Kilimanjaro”): Par-4 with a raised green on a dune, Hole 16: Par-5 going over or through dunes to a challenging green and some notable short par-4s: Holes 6 and 14 with tight greens and bunkers.

In its history The Links has hosted the 2003 Presidents Cup, one of its marquee events, the SAA Open in 2005 and other major tournaments.

The Links is a private club; tee times for nonmembers are very limited, mostly for Fancourt hotel or Manor House guests.

We will reminisce this course at our special final dinner, along with all the tour’s memories.

Q & A South Africa 2027

Golf & Safari Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we start and finish the South African Tour?

Our tour starts in Johannesburg on Sunday, 2 May, at the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel with welcome drinks and dinner. Airport transfers are included in the package.

Make sure your flight allows you to be ready for some South African wine at 6.00 pm!

The tour concludes on Thursday, 20 May 2027. Breakfast is included, as is an airport shuttle to George Airport, a short 10 minutes away. From George, you can then connect to onward international flights home, most likely via Johannesburg.

What internal flights are included?

The following flights are included in the tour price and will be booked by PaR nz Golfing Holidays as a group booking. The luggage allowance is 2 x 20 kg pieces of checked luggage per person (1 x suitcase and 1 x golf bag). We recommend travelling light, as any excess baggage will be at your own cost.

1. Friday, 7 May: Nelspruit (MQP), Kruger National Park to Livingstone, Zambia

2. Monday, 10 May: Livingstone to Cape Town

Clothing – what to wear and what to bring

Normal golf attire is expected at all golf clubs – cargo pants and denim are not permitted. All included evening meals are based on smart casual dress.

Safari clothing:

Many will remember the scenes from Out of Africa when Karen Blixen went on safari with everything including the kitchen sink and a gramophone! Luckily for us, the lodges are well equipped, and you can leave your hairdryer at home—they will provide one.

Safaris are generally casual affairs, even at luxury camps such as Jock Lodge. There is no need to bring evening wear, but you will want to stay warm and comfortable. Avoid bright colours, including white. Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dusty. Early morning game drives can be chilly, so bring layers and a fleece.

We suggest:

• Hats and caps – a broad-brimmed hat as well as a cap

• Good walking shoes and socks for game drives and bush walks

• Sandals or open footwear for wearing around camp during the day

• A small backpack or rucksack for game walks

• A light jacket or windbreaker and a fleece top for game drives – temperatures can drop significantly after sunset

• Pale, natural-coloured clothing to blend into the bush; avoid white or cream for walking safaris

• A sarong and swimwear for the pool

• Relaxed, casual evening wear – there is no need to dress up for dinner

– what’s the currency?

The local currency is the South African Rand (ZAR). It is widely used, especially at local markets. Some local currency is recommended, though most tourist locations accept credit cards. Some markets are cash only.

Tip monies noted separately will be included in the final invoice for drivers, porters, and service staff, paid by the PaR nz team.

Caddy and forecaddie fees, along with ranger and house team tips on safari, will be confirmed closer to the time once 2027 rates are known. These are payable in cash directly.

Some golf clubs are now cashless; we will provide details ahead of our visits.

During the two nights in Zambia, the local currency is the Kwacha. Minimal Kwacha is needed – if at all – since credit cards are widely accepted.

Vaccines / Insurance / Visas

Current as at the time of writing

All travel is at your own risk. On booking, we strongly recommend obtaining a full and comprehensive travel insurance policy to protect yourself against all possible eventualities.

We are mainly in city and town areas where malaria or other tropical diseases are extremely rare. However, it is your own decision whether to take vaccines. For your information, the PaR nz team has not felt the need for vaccines in the past but always checks requirements before entering Africa.

Visas:

• New Zealanders and Australians do not require a visa to enter South Africa or Zambia.

• New Zealand and Australian passport holders do require visas for entry into Zimbabwe. PaR nz will arrange these at the border during our day trip to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe side).

SPECIAL FEATURE – PaR nz TRAVEL APP

When you register for this 2027 South Africa Tour & Safari including Victoria Falls, you will receive a link to our special PaR nz Travel App. A detailed electronic itinerary can be downloaded on your laptop, iPad or smartphone, enabling you to review tour highlights and access daily updates while on tour.

Golf – tell me about the golf?

All play is in carts. At The Links at Fancourt, a caddy is mandatory per person. Closer to the time, caddy tip pricing will be advised; payment is expected in cash. Current rates are approximately ZAR 400 per person. Forecaddie requirements and costs will be confirmed when 2027 rates are released.

Throughout the tour, the PaR nz team will complete daily draws to mix everyone up – men, women, and by handicap. We will run a fun daily competition over the 8 rounds, with handicaps adjusted daily as per the PaR nz Points System™. The intention is for you to play with as many participants as possible, making new friends and reconnecting with past golfing companions. The PaR nz team works hard on group dynamics and wants to show you the best of South African golf and more!

Are non-golfing partners welcome?

Yes! There are many additional activities we can arrange for partners depending on their interests. Over many years, we have found that personalised programmes work better than fixed itineraries.
