As a lifetime resident of Southern Maine with over 35 years experience serving customers, I provide expert knowledge of the local Maine market and understand the importance of listening to the unique needs of each client to guide them in making the right decision. My passion is finding solutions to challenging issues and I am committed to exceptional customer service through hard work, integrity, compassion and professionalism My primary goal is to be the expert consultant to my clients, coaching them through the home buying or selling process. My extensive knowledge of local markets enhances this process. In addition, I am tenacious and an experienced negotiator, consistently ranking in the top 3% of sales in the State of Maine.

Disclosure - I must disclose to the you any information I receive that may benefit or harm your position in a negotiation.

Obedience - I must obey all lawful orders that you give to me.

Reasonable care & diligence - I must use all of my skills to the best of my ability on your behalf.

Accounting - I must account for all funds entrusted to me and not commingle (combine) client/customer funds with my personal and/or business funds.

10 STEPS TO BUYING A HOME

The real estate transaction is complex. It is a process that occurs when a seller offers their home for sale, and a buyer agrees to purchase that property. There are many steps involved in buying a house, and the steps vary depending on the type of transaction and state regulations.

DO'S AND DON'TS THAT COME UP MOST

Do continue making your rent payments.

Do stay current on all your existing credit cards and other accounts.

Do keep working at your current employer. (Yes, some people quit their jobs while getting a loan!)

Do keep the same insurance company.

Do continue using credit as usual (as long as “usual” means paying on time!)

Do call your lender if you have questions or want to change your finances in any way.

Don’t make any major purchases. (car, furniture, refrigerator, etc.)

Don’t apply for new credit. (even if you’re “pre-approved”)

Don’t open a new credit card.

Don’t transfer credit card balances.

Don’t pay charge-offs. (unless your lender says to do it)

Don’t pay off any collections. (you guessed it- ask your lender first)

Don’t close any credit card accounts.

Don’t increase your credit card debt.

Don’t change bank accounts.

Don’t consolidate debt or credit cards.

Don’t take out a new loan. (yeah, people have done it)

Don’t open a new cell phone account –or any new accounts!

Don’t pay off loans or credit cards unless your lender says it's ok.

It’s probably becoming clear that the best rule is “Don’t Change Anything!” unless you talk to your lender first Once your loan is secured, life goes back to normal
