Our English preparatory courses are TUITIONFREE! That means you don’t have to worry about the tuition fees for the cost of your courses. You will still need to pay for required fees and textbooks. You may qualify for a grant to help cover these costs. kpu.ca/awards

Want to attend KPU but don’t meet the English Proficiency Requirements?

Students who do not meet the English Proficiency Requirements for KPU undergraduate studies can take English upgrading courses, alongside some undergraduate courses. A student begins Pathway at one of the following entry points based on their current level of English proficiency:

PATHWAY 1 Students with: » C + in Communications 12 » 4.5 score on IELTS » 32 score on TOEFL » Placement from KPU English Assessment Complete the following upgrading courses: » ENGQ courses* » ELST courses numbered 0041-0183* *as permitted by pre-requisites

PATHWAY 2 Students with: » C - in English Studies 12 » B + in Communications 12 » 5.5 score on IELTS or equivalents
