Fresh thinking is the answer to today’s challenges.
The challenges facing the agricultural sector are becoming increasingly bigger. And when times are tough, only one thing helps: a new way of thinking. Envisaging alternative options and making smart decisions. For your next tractor purchase, this means opting for efficiency instead of image. For a tractor that can do tough work with top performance whilst under constant strain. And all that at a reasonable price. A Kubota tractor is exactly the right alternative at times like these.
Seeding at the right time in one pass for high yields and best growing conditions
The cultivator-mounted seed drill SD1001M series allows seedbed preparation, consolidation and precise seed placement in one pass. It is an economical solution for farmers looking for a straightforward seed drill combination to achieve high yields and optimal growing conditions with customisable row spacing. At the right time seedbed preparation and seeding in one pass reduce the time pressure in the autumn and spring.
Focus on seeding
Kubota’s clear machine layout with the incorporated technology offers the user maximum ease of use from set-up, filling, transport and seeding. The SD1001M is available as rigid frame in 3.0 and 4.0.m working with mechanical metering device. Seedbed preparation and seeding is been carried out in one pass. Thanks to its modular design, it can be easily combined with an existing power harrow or other tillage implements, such as a short tine cultivator, rotary tiller or compact disc harrow.
Easy lifting, handling and hopper filling
The hopper can easily be filled using big bags, a front loader or a telescopic handler. The hopper can also be filled from a scissor trailer and grain auger. The hopper capacity of 750l which is optional extentable of up to 1,000l reduces the set-up time. Due to the optimised position of the hopper the centre of gravity is close to the tractor. Less lifting capacity is needed, allowing smaller tractors from 90kW to operate the seed drills combination.
Mechanic driven metering device
The metering device is easily accessible and simple to adjust. A spiked landwheel ensures exact drive of the system. A calibration kit with bag and scale is delivered as standard. Micro-dosing and also bigger seeds are possible.
Sowing depth
The sowing depth can be adjusted either by the coulter pressure or the press wheel. The coulter pressure is adjusted mechanically by a crank. The fine-tuning is done via the press wheels hole-pin system.
Accurate seed placement
Kubota offers two versions of the well-known CX-II coulters: one with a press wheel and one without. Both types are clamped to the coulter bar and allowing flexible row distances (12.5 or 25cm) and easy setup. The CX-II guarantees smooth operation with minimal soil disturbance and requires less power due to its flat design. Less coulter pressure is needed to achieve a consistent sowing depth.
Perfect soil coverage
Harrowing the soil surface completes the seeding. An S-shaped harrow of 10mm ensures an optimum covering of the seeds. The working intensity can be set by the stepless pressure adjustment and at three different angles.
Optimum hopper position to be able to transport and operate also with smaller tractors.

SD1001M: Straightforward combination
Sowing with seedbed preparation at the right time is crucial for optimal results. That’s why Kubota offers in modular design concept developed seed drill combination SD1001M series. It is the ideal machine for small to medium-sized farms. The compact design with optimal centre of gravity allows operation with smaller tractors, which means saving on resources and fuel costs.

Mechanical metering device
SD1001M: Compact and Comfort
The SD1001M series is the ideal machine for small and medium-sized farms and combines seedbed preparation and seeding in one pass. Working widths of 3.0 and 4.0m are available. The power requirement is from as 90kW due to the optimum centre of gravity.
The mechanical metering device is driven by the spiked landwheel running in the tilled soil. A seed rate from 2 to 380kg/ha is possible. A calibration flap underneath the metering device closes automatically with the start of the air stream.
The hopper of the SD1001M series has a low filling height and offers a capacity of 750 litres which can be extended to 1000 litres. For the electronic control of the Kubota SD1001M series, the FGS and Signus are optional available. The distribution head is mounted inside the seed hopper. The standard machine is supplied by hydraulic drive and can also be equipped with a 540 or 1000 rpm V-belt drive.
An optional half switch-off is available.
The central metering device accurately measures any desired volume of seed from 2kg/ha to 380kg/ha. For the sowing of fine seeds, e.g. rape or grass, the metering device can be infinitely adjusted to fine seed/micrometering by means of a spindle, without any need for tools. The central, totally enclosed cell wheel of the metering device accurately measures the required volume of seed and discharges it into the venturi cone where it is mixed with the air stream and then conveyed through the diffusor tube and the seed delivery hoses to the coulters. The diffusor tube with the distributor is located inside the hopper for an excellent diagonal distribution either way.

CX-II coulter without press wheel (option)
For wet and sticky soils, the CX-II coulter without press wheels is an excellent option. The specially curved disc design ensures sufficient bearing capacity, even in challenging conditions. No press wheels means less weight to carry or pull. This is making the CX-II coulter and the complete SD1001M even more cost-effecient.
On slightly sticky soils an optional scraper at the press wheel is recommended.
CX-II coulter: slim, precise and efficient
Kubota offers with the CX-II disc coulter a perfect placement and easy set-up. Smooth running and less pulling force is required. The coulter is maintenance-free.
Perfect seed placement
The flat cutting angle (5.4°) of the steel disc requires less coulter pressure to reach a constant seeding depth. Thanks to the combination of steel disc and flexible plastic disc, there is no need for independent scrapers. Wearing on the more expensive steel disc is reduced.
Press wheels
The press wheels ensure the optimum seed-to-soil contact. Important for a constant seed depth is the distance between the coulter and the press wheel. The close coupling of the CX-II system increases the seed depth accuracy because the closer the distance the less influence on the seed depth.
Depth adjustment
The depth adjustment, carried out without using any tools. Three possible adjustments adapted to soil condition guarantee perfect seed placement. For level and even ground it can be set in the fixed position. In cloddy or stony conditions it is set in the flexible position. In extreme wet conditions the press wheel can be lifted out of work completely. On slightly sticky soils an optional scraper is recommended.
Clamped coulter for flexible sowing distances of 12.5 or 25cm. Less coulters mean higher clearance, less weight and reduced costs.
Perfect sowing with easy adjustment
Once you have configured your machine, you want to rely on a perfect performance. All Kubota solo seed drills are modular structured and offer various adjustments to adapt and equipped the drills to individual conditions.
Following harrow
Combing the soil completes the seeding. The S-shaped following harrow ensure an optimum covering of the seeds. The working intensity can be set by the stepless pressure adjustment and at different angles.
Coulter pressure
Coulter pressure from 5 to 50kg can be adjusted either mechanical by crank.
Valves and Half width off
Up to eight shut-off or combi valves can be mounted. With the half-swith off the distribution head can be easily shut-off for half of the working width. This saves seeds but also enables to start with half of machine widths by asymmetric tramline system.
Pre-emergence marker
Systematic tramlines save seeds. Preemergence markers operate automatically in combination with hydr. folding track markers. The pre-ermergence systems can work symmetric or asymmetric.
