RESTRUCTURING & MANAGEMENT OF CHANGE IN THE ENTERPRISE
Summary Many managers are faced with the everyday problem of adapting to numerous structural, technological and social changes. From the standpoint of scientific research and as a subject of instruction, change management is increasingly growing into a profession and managerial practice. Change has become the cult word of the modern leader whose basic idea is to be and exist. Contemporary business systems adapt and change quickly. They “run in order to stay put” or “everything changes and only change is permanent”. These are just some of the business world’s metaphors that illustrate the importance of changes and the ability of its leaders to implement them. In such circumstances leaders have to develop and teach co-workers to accept change and master the transition from the old conditions into the new ones with greater ease. The paper deliberates on the leaders’ role and character, the typology of change and complementarity of restructuring the enterprise and TQM.
