Kumba Anglo American and Gamagara Local Municipality Partnership benefit school learners at Gamagara High in Deben The mayor, Cllr O E Hantise,andWardCouncillor, Cllr. T. E. Tiroyame, together with Kumba Team, visited Gamagara High School in Deben to hand over some solar lights and rechargeable lights to matriculants to be used during the disruption of load shedding. This was an

initiative brought forward by Kumba as a caring mining company to assist learners in staying focused on their journey to have or produce excellent matricresultsatthe end of the year. The program will be rolled out to other schools in Gamagara. The mayor thanked Kumba Mine fortheircontinuedsupportof community development projects

Tsineng murderer sentenced to 12 years' direct imprisonment

The Kuruman District Court recently handed down a 12year prison sentence to 49year-old Keamogetse Johannes Dithae for fatally stabbing a 37-year-old male victimonSaturday,December 24, 2022, in Sedibeng village, Tsineng The court heard that the 37-year-old male victim was attacked by the accused after learning that he was romantically involved in a relationship with his exgirlfriend Onthesaidday,the accused approached the victim and her ex-girlfriend, who were walking down a streetinSedibengvillage,and

violently attacked the victim. He stabbed him to death while the ex-girlfriend ran away, fearing for her life The meticulous investigations led totheaccusedpleading guilty in courtand being henceforth found guilty as charged. The District Commissioner for the John Taole Gaetsewe district, Major General Johnny Besnaar, applauded the Investigating Officer, Detective Sergeant Mojaki Obed Mogaswe, for ensuring that perpetrators of violent crimes are removed from societybythecourts.
