Bravo, Lambo! Lamborghini Urus completed the ascent of the mountain in 10 minutes and 32.064 seconds, which was approximately 18 seconds faster than the previous record for a production SUV
There is a new king of the mountain when it comes to production SUVs racing up Pikes Peak. The vehicle in question is the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Recent records have been broken by the supercar-bred Lamborghini Urus, which set a time of 10:32.064. This is about 18 seconds faster than the 2018 Bentley Bentayga, which previously held the record for the production SUV category with a time of 10:49.902 seconds. Although the Lamborghini did not take part in the competition that was conducted at the end of June, the o cial timekeepers at Pikes Peak did record the time that it completed the course.
The Takeoff For Lamborghini Urus
Late in the month of July, Lamborghini carried out the timed runs over the course of three days, and we were given the opportunity to see the second day of those efforts. It was necessary for the R&D team to begin preparing the Urus before sunrise in order to meet the deadline of completing the runs by 7:30 a.m., which is the time when the gates to Pikes Peak open to the general public. Soon after takeoff, it must have been evident that something was wrong with the Urus’s operation in order for Faggioli to immediately return to the preparation area in order to rectify what seemed to be a defective sensor. Whatever it was that the crew did to correct it, it worked because the super truck ended up beating the record set by the Bentley before their time for the day was up. On the other hand, the Urus did not record its best time until the day after we had departed, which was the day after we had left. Despite this, we were able to see Faggioli and the rest of the squad celebrate breaking the record they had previously held.
Lamborghini’s Chief Technical O cer, Rouven Mohr, was one among the individuals who rst suggested making an effort to climb Pikes Peak. It is a barely disguised effort by Lamborghini to obscure the fact that the record-breaking 641-hp Urus wasn’t just any old Urus that broke the record. Instead, it is a brand-new version that will be shown to the public on August 19th. Lamborghini has revealed a few speci cs about the vehicle that successfully completed the legendary hill-climb course. However, most of the information on the impending Urus has been kept secret until that time.
The Urus is practically the same thing that people will receive with the production version, with the primary exceptions being the mandatory safety equipment, which mostly consists of a roll cage and a race seat equipped with a six-point harness. This features the usual twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine as well as Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires with sizes of 285/40R-22 in front and 325/235R-22 in the rear.
