December 28th, 2:00 pm When KU fan Josh Swade discovers Dr. Naismith’s original rules of basketball will be auctioned on December 10, 2010, he embarks on a quest to raise more the $1 million in three weeks. The cameras roll during every step of his adventure, through twists and turns and unlikely stops. Follow his fanatical journey to bring the rules home to the University of Kansas.
The 1988 NCAA Championship January 2nd, 2:00 pm
Danny and the Miracles, as a six seed in the 1988 NCAA tournament, face the daunting task of unseating #1 seed Oklahoma in an all-Big 8 championship game. Playing to a 50-50 tie in the 50th NCAA tournament, the Jayhawks slow down the game in the second half and pull off a huge upset, winning 83-79.
The 2008 NCAA Championship January 5th, 11:00 am
Twenty years after Danny and the Miracles captured the 1988 crown, the 2008 Jayhawks—in one of the greatest championship game comebacks of all time—grabbed their third title in school history by defeating the Memphis Tigers 75-68 in overtime.
Fast Break: the Legendary John McClendon January 10th, 1:00 pm
Fast Break is a documentary about the life and legacy of coach John McClendon. Inspired by the award winning biography, “Breaking Through” by Milton S. Katz, the film tells the story of the life of this remarkable man. McClendon broke down barriers of racial segregation in college and professional athletics, while pioneering a new, more fast-paced way to play the game of basketball.
