Story My name is Mari Ojasaar, designer of KUMA accessories. My life is my art as much as art is my life. I found my creative passion as a child watching my mother make handmade leather crafts to make the ends meet. Having been bitten by the creative bug, I started experimenting with all things artsy. As my mind and heart filled up with ideas, I looked for ways to share my art. I wanted to be a voice, not an echo. And that’s how KUMA boutique was born. KUMA butterfly brooches became popular almost overnight and worked their way into the hearts of Nordic women. Today, in addition to our best-selling butterfly bow-ties, KUMA product selection consists of diff erent accessories, all inspired by mother nature. We believe that materials are one of the key elements, when it comes to creating quality handmade jewelry. From choosing the right materials to adding the final touches - everything has to be done with care. • We believe that everything has energy and therefore we put a lot of effort into how, where and by whom our products are made. We ensure that all butterflies are made under the careful attention of skilled Nordic Craftsmen.

Materials We believe that materials are one of the key elements, when it comes to creating quality handmade jewelry. From choosing the right materials to adding the final touches - everything has to be done with care. All KUMA accessories are made of vegan leather, which gives a natural feel to the accessories but is also a strong and durable base for the decorative elements. No chemistry is used to colour the vegan leather, only waterbone coating. When it comes to production, our main goal is to preserve both the flora and fauna around us. Therefore, we make sure not to use any animal products or by-products in the production process or packaging. Vegan leather will not only
make you look good, but you will also feel good, since no animal was hurt in the manufacturing of the leather! All KUMA products are cruelty free to spread the love for our furry friends. Our products are produced following STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEXÂŽ certification criteria, which means that our products are also safe to use for babies and small children.

Butterflies KUMA Butterfly brooches change boring white collars for good, now instead of wearing masculine neckwear, women can wear something delicate and feminine yet stylish and unique! All brooches are made of upcycled leather and covered with water resistant lacquer to guarantee a long life for the butterfly brooch.
