Who is

?

Born in 1982, same year nike introduced the Air Force One model and Michael Jackson released „Thriller”. Huge fan of Tarantino’s movies. In school I was introduced to hip-hop music, afterwards I became familiar with its origins deriving from jazz and funk music’s father James Brown. Graduated with honours from the graphic design department at Bilkent University in Ankara. I then worked in editorial, advertising and as a freelance designer. My focuses are branding, advertising and illustration. I’m simply trying to mix images and type, but always add a special ingredient. I would like to be Michael Bierut and Stefan Sagmeister, but in one person. I go by the name Mr. Brown. I’m trying to make a name for myself. When I joined DDB Warsaw in the summer of 2003 Artur was already an intern in a large and largely unmotivated creative department.

The integrated marketing agency Focus Advantage had the pleasure and opportunity to collaborate with Mr. Artur Augustyniak several times throughout the past few years.

So much so, in fact, that I suggested that rather than return to college he should come and work for me. An offer that he, wisely, I think, declined. AlthoughIhavenot had the opportunitytowork withhim since, I have followed the progress of Artur’s work and career since with interest and admiration. In my view he certainly knows that ‘the good is the enemy of the great’ but more than that, I think, he knows what good design is for and why the great always works harder than the good. poster contest entry: Beggars. 1% FOR CULTURE. This book is titled “Beggars” and is at the same time one of the greatest pieces in polish literature, a play written by Adam Mickiewicz. The title is being also a commentary on the topic. At the time the polish government was only using 0,3% of the country’s budget for cultural events and purposes. The aim was to make them use 1% of the budget for culture.
