Honors Program experience is already having a significant impact.

Kayleen has been passionate about safety preparedness since childhood.

With this passion, she completed an Honors capstone experience under the direction of Dr. Craig Brasco in the School of Art and Design. Her capstone involved the creation of a cutting-edge marketing campaign for Georgia CPR and Safety. After graduation as an Honors Scholar, Kayleen will be able to further her work by teaching CPR and First Aid all over Georgia. ~ 2017 KSU Honors Scholar

8 FOUNDATIONS OF HONORS LEARNING GAINED BY 8 LEARNING EXPERIENCES

After volunteering with Zoo Atlanta, MIK CHARI discovered she had a passion for animals. She made the decision to apply to Kennesaw State and the University Honors Program to pursue an undergraduate degree in Biology. Mik quickly flourished in the University Honors environment. She says her favorite part of being an Honors student is the “personalized attention from the Honors faculty and Honors Colloquium.” Mik is busy with her senior capstone where she is studying Zebrafish under the direction of Dr. Lisa Ganser in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. She plans to attend veterinary school after graduation and has been accepted to four of the highly rated programs to which she applied.

The University Honors Program provides deeper learning experiences for eligible students eager to broaden themselves intellectually, enhance critical thinking skills, and join a close-knit cohort of high-achieving peers. As part of a talented and diverse community within the University, Honors students enjoy the benefits of small sections of core courses, interdisciplinary Honors seminars, community service and leadership activities, undergraduate research, and domestic and international travel—all while receiving the exceptional advantages granted to KSU Honors students.

The Honors Program at Kennesaw State University is guided by the Eight Foundations of Honors Learning and Eight Honors Learning Experiences (8x8).

Each of these learning experiences provides you with flexibility in studies, regardless of major, while also allowing you to dive deeper into the subjects that interest you most.

in Integrative Studies with a dual concentration in French and Korean languages in December 2016. Vincent’s plans for the future changed recently, when he was granted a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to South Korea.

He also plans to attend graduate school to study Urban Planning and later return to the United States to help improve national infrastructure and transportation networks. ~ 2016 KSU Honors Scholar
