“ Details matter. They create depth , and depth creates authenticity .”

My name is Ksenia Aseeva, and I am a Multidisciplinary Creative, Interior Designer & Stylist.

After more than a decade in the UAE’s Events & Entertainment industry, spanning executive management to set and costume design and creative direction, I founded a design studio that embraces the power of a multilayered approach to design and experimentation.

My design philosophy is deeply rooted in exploration, curiosity, authenticity, and the relentless pursuit of innovation, that pushes me to evolve professionally and personally.

Working by hand in a variety of mediums, my projects and materials are ever changing while staying true to the sense of wonder for natural elements, decorative patterns and obsessive handicraft.

Drawing inspiration from the diverse landscapes of the world and the myriad experiences it offers, including the bizarre and unique, I blend refined elegance with raw elements to craft immersive and captivating environments that feel authentic and engaging to the senses.

Rêves Olympique: Studio Project

RÊVES OLYMPIQUE: For the love of sport, abstract connections and juxtapositions. Exploring unlikely connections and links between objects, disciplines and nature.

To celebrate the start of the Summer Olympics 2024 I’ve created a series of sets that blend the energy of athletic disciplines with the beauty of nature.

I’ve further developed this concept into a series of curated home decor selections, inspired by each set. These selections emphasize the emotions and vibes evoked by each discipline, translating the unique spirit of the sport through distinctive and evocative decor.

The "Frozen Garden" theme draws its inspiration from the magical moment when the first snow blankets the garden, transforming it into an enchanting winter wonderland.

dressing& styling

The color palette of frosty pinks, muted greens, gold, and light lavender enhances this magical scene, weaving a tapestry of soft, whimsical hues. The gentle glow of white fairy lights and the occasional glint of gold create a warm, inviting ambiance, while the addition of apple branches introduces a hint of the garden’s hidden bounty, even in the depth of winter.

Crystal ornaments and handmade baubles from “The Garden” collection add a personal, handcrafted touch, their reflective surfaces capturing and scattering light like sparkling frost. mood board & concept

passion project: Dinner at Moth’s 04

The whimsical concept of Dinner at Moth's emerged from a journey that weaves together elements of nature, design, performance, storytelling, tablescaping, fashion, and a dash of fairytale magic.

Like a masterpiece taking shape, this unique concept evolved from an initial sketch, blending a myriad of details together, into a cohesive reality.

I first made this sketch in 2022, a year before it all materialized, and initially it was called

“The Moth”. As everything in life, concepts do evolve as we acquire new experiences and skills. And that exactly what happened with The Moth evolving into Dinner at The Moth’s.

This is “a fall 2023 season” passion project that brings together everything that I love and passionate about: design, craft, performance, art of tablesetting, and most of all storytelling, as I strongly believe that everything should have a story as that’s how the design magic happens.

concept development

story line

"Dinner at Moth's" invites guests into an otherworldly experience where The Moth, a captivating and enigmatic host, dressed in a dusky lavender gown, orchestrates a dinner party deep within a whimsical forest.

The ambiance evokes a blend of Shakespeare’s "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a gothic twist, reminiscent of Tim Burton's fantastical and darkly whimsical aesthetic.

Guests are transported into a surreal world where nature intertwines with intricate decor, creating an unforgettable experience that balances elegance and eerie charm.

design rationale

As you step into BEDU, you're transported into the boundless embrace of the desert. The design ethos pays homage to the natural allure of the desert landscape, embracing earthy tones that echo its rugged beauty.

The entrance to the Cocktail Lounge echoes the iconic Bedouin tents, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity. Here, textures collide — glass juxtaposed against rammed earth — inviting guests on a journey through time and space.

Adorning the walls, intricate paintwork replicates the rugged texture of rammed earth, while embroidered wall art and mosaic accents crafted from pottery shards adorn the restaurant area. Each detail tells a story of heritage and resilience.

Underfoot, plush carpets in the lounge area evoke the soft sands of the desert, while palm veneer and travertine tiles emulate the fluid contours of dunes and the tranquility of an oasis.

Modern lighting fixtures, inspired by the desert's natural patina, cast a warm, inviting glow, creating an ambiance that enchants and envelops, inviting guests to linger and explore.

At BEDU, every corner, every texture, every hue is a testament to the enduring allure of the desert, beckoning guests to immerse themselves in its timeless beauty.
