The name ygg&lyng reflects the brand's Nordic backdrop. Ygg is taken from the evergreen mythical tree Yggdrasil. A symbol of life. Lyng (Heather) is an aesthetically beautiful plant that can withstand cold weather and wind. ygg&lyng has its proud roots in traditional Norwegian craftsmanship and Scandinavian modernism, characterized by honest materials and simple, clean shapes. Furniture from ygg&lyng gives a sense of closeness to nature reflected in sustainable material choices and conscious production.

Norwegian Living is the towering, raw mountains that surround us, the icy roads in winter time, the rain on the west coast and the midnight sun up north. T-bordet got its name from the shape of the legs, which carry two oblong table tops.

Wooden tops in combination with the black, lightweight metal legs create a fascinating material contrast. The look is graphical and industrial, but still warm.

The T-bordet dining table has the option of extensions on each side.

In Dis sideboard and cabinet, the combination of oversized and minimalistic is a powerful contradiction. Solid craftsmanship and honest oak materials are complemented by a powder coated steel frame.

Viken has roots in simplicity and functionality from Scandinavian modernism. With slanted legs and rounded table top the expression is visually light, almost floating.

DIA VASE

design elin louise sveen Dia ceramic vases emerged from our Dia lamps. The two largest vases in the series have similar appearance as the lamps, but are made in a smaller format. The original shape is in turn inspired by various traditional lamp shades that the designer has played with. By changing the diameter and height – and by turning and stacking the elements on top of each other, new, untraditional forms came to life.

Kveld was ygg&lyng’s first dining sofa. «Kveld» means evening in Norwegian and invites to long and pleasant gatherings around the dining table. Kveld will keep your guests comfortable in the evening, and let you enjoy your coffee in the morning.

The table’s frame, as the name suggests, is inspired by the shape of a scythe.

A slim frame in black powder coated steel carries a delicate, round table top in matching black steel, or solid oak in assorted finishes. The top is also available in real Norwegian stone. The matte surface has an elegant and pleasant look, where the crystals in tones of blue and green carefully capture the light and gives it a beautiful glow.

Curvature in water, sand and waves were among the designer’s sources of inspiration for the Krum candle holder. With its flat, wavy shape in lacquered metal, it is a modern interpretation of the candlestick. Candles set the mood and are in many homes synonymous with atmosphere and coziness.

Krum is like a small round sculpture in the interior, with waves radiating from the center.

It is an interesting graphic object in itself, even when the light is not lit.

The name of the hotel is inspired by the composer’s magnificent A-minor concert, Opus 16. With notes of the classic, Opus divan fits perfectly into the modern, venerable surroundings.

It’s simple and Scandinavian, with a touch of romanticism.
