Through trend forecasting, I learned that Cottage Core was a popular aesthetic for our target audience. Working with a team of artists and designers, I designed a collection of home decor and giftable items. This was a large collection that included 25 products, ranging from textiles to hanging decor to kitchen items. Unique details that were represented in this collection included faux rattan, velvet and watercolor paper. I worked directly with international vendors to manage and create these items.

Primitives By Kathy launched a brand new greeting card collection in late 2022. I was responsible for managing, directing and designing 24 unique cards. I directed a team of writers and designers while securing a printer in the United States that provided an economical and unique printing method. Each card is digitally printed and enhanced with raised surfaces, metallic ink or foiling.

This is a chinoiserie/ginger jar inspired collection that I developed. I worked with a watercolor artist and designer to create items that would sit well with other blue themed collections that were being created simultaneously. Details in this collection included floating frames, gold accents and tassels.

After researching trends and seeing a resurgence of real pressed floral art, I designed and developed a digital pressed floral collection for Primitives By Kathy in three color palettes. Actual pressed florals were photographed then silhouetted and products were digitally designed and created.

For this project I was asked to create a garden collection. After researching popular seeds, I directed a watercolor artist to paint several floral images. From there, I selected body styles and created this vintage garden inspired collection. Details that I brought into this collection were galvanized metal, burlap and ruffles.

This was a large collection where I managed the artist, graphic design team and international vendors. Our team explored new ways to decorate with galvanized metal, beaded garland and paper gift tags. Materials I chose to use in this collection were jute, velvet, wood and metal.
