Trisha Rodwell, Osteopathic Manual Practitioner
Osteopathic Manual Therapy is a handson therapy that has been around since the 1870’s. Practitioners look at the relationship between the imbalances in the human structure that contribute to the development of disease or dysfunction. Poor posture, injuries, or age can change the positioning of the body’s boney framework. When this happens, we can see physiological effects as it can restrict the pathway of the nerves and other vessels in that area.
The body is a dynamic unit of function; which means that everything is interconnected and works together. When one area of your body is not working correctly, it can cause a chain reaction that affects other areas. For example, if the neck is side bent to one side, then the nerves, arteries, veins, and lymph vessels will be compressed affecting the fluid flow and nerve function in that area. If the nerves and vessels are restricted in the neck, then other areas that are supplied by the same vessels will be affected as well; such as the head, arm, and upper thoracic region. The same way building a dam slows down the flow of water in a river. This is why osteopathic manual therapy looks beyond your symptoms to
identify the source of the problem.
Osteopathic treatment is based on the objective findings of the human body. Through palpation and movement analysis, along with an in-depth nderstanding of anatomy and physiology, the practitioner can assess where restrictions in the body are present. Limited joint range of motion, muscle tension, asymmetry, tissue temperature, and inflammation are all findings that the practitioner can use to help identify the source. Through gentle techniques the practitioner will work through the fascia, soft tissue, and ligamentous restrictions in order to rebalance the body’s framework so that it can function as it was designed to. The human body is self-regulating and self-healing – and will strive for health if given a chance. Our role as practitioners is to encourage this self-healing capacity through manual treatment.
Many insurance companies will cover Osteopathic Manual Therapy. However, not all Osteopathic training is the same, so it is important to do your research before seeking treatment. The World Health Organization (WHO) has set the standards for osteopathic education for decades.
The private insurance industry has aligned with these WHO benchmarks and only recognizes osteopathic practitioners who have graduated from reputable schools that meet these standards. The Type 1 standards require Osteopathic Manual Practitioners to have a minimum of 4 years of osteopathic education. This education must total a minimum of 4200 hours, and include a minimum of 1000 hours in supervised clinical practice and training.
Benefits of osteopathic manual therapy include:
• Improved circulation
• Reduced pain and inflammation
• Improved joint health and mobility
• Better digestion
• Reduced headaches and migraines
• Injury prevention
• Improved posture
Osteopathic treatment is highly individualized, with practitioners assessing and treating based on the unique needs and conditions of each patient. Whether you are dealing with chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or just looking to improve your overall health; Osteopathic Manual Therapy can help you take control of your health and wellness.

Let’s look at 5 quirky and interesting trademarks and copyright facts.
1. In Canada, a trademark can’t be scandalous, obscene, or immoral. However, what that means exactly is open to interpretation. In 1992, an objection to the trademark ‘Miss Nude Universe’ was rejected by the Canadian Federal Court. In their decision, the court stated that nude was a ‘perfectly acceptable adjective’.
2. You can’t trademark a colour. …unless it’s tied to a particular size or shape!
3. Your copyright survives you. In most cases, copyright expires 50 years after the death of the creator.
4. Ideas aren’t protected by copyright. …only the expression of the idea is protected.
5. The lion’s roar that opens MGM films is one of the most recognizable trademark sounds.
Yes, sounds can be a powerful and recognizable intellectual property asset.

Rooms are nice and clean. Hotel was either at capacity or close to it but we heard no noise from the rooms on either side so nice sound proofing! The only extra we used was the breakfast. There was a very nice selection and once again the area was kept clean and organized. Will definitely stay there again. - Evelyn Dieterle

Clean rooms, beds were comfortable and the pillows were also good. We enjoyed the pool and waterslide. Breakfast in the morning had a variety of things to choose from.Johnny Twoshoes

The staff are always friendly, and efficient. It means lots when we are in the industry that we are in. The hotel is always clean, as the rooms are too. We have stayed at this location a ton, and have never had to ask for anything at the front desk. - Anonymous

Oftentimes people wait until they are older, have more responsibilities, or have a family to start considering their need for life insurance. But why are we waiting? Now is the time!
If I had a nickel for every time I heard someone say that they wish they purchased their life insurance in their 20s I would be filthy rich. Okay I would probably only have about $12, But I have heard it a lot!
So why does life insurance make sense now? Life insurance is going to make sense when you have financial needs that outweigh your assets if you were to pass away. And we all have those: student loans, car loans, etc.
Here are 4 reasons why you should you consider it today
1. Younger= Cheaper
The younger you are, the better rates you can lock in as the premium will relatively remain the same for the entire duration of the policy (based on no changes being made to the policy) which will reduce the total amount spent over your lifetime. This is because the younger you are, the healthier you are.
Therefore healthy also equals cheaper. You are in the prime of your life, acquiring a policy now ensures that the cost will remain low when health conditions come up as you age. This keeps you protected no matter what life will throw at you.
For example, a non- smoking 25-year-old woman looking at a 30-year term policy with a 250k face value would be about $18/ month vs at 35 that same policy would be about $30 a month. Almost double! Getting this policy at 25 would save you over $4000 over 30 years. This could be your cost of waiting to get life insurance.
2. Protects loved ones.
Having a plan in place would make sure your family has a secure future, it could pay off a mortgage, car loans, or funeral costs leaving your family with paid off assets and their only worry is missing you. It protects your partner from having to worry about covering these costs
Lots of us in our 20s or even 30s do not currently have any children and maybe not even a spouse but that doesn’t mean you never will. However having an insurance policy could protect your parents or a loan co-signor from the burden of your debts. As your family grows, so can your life insurance. You can add dependents (like children) to your policy, which could help cover them later in life as well.
3. Build Credit
Building credit can be quite the task when you are first starting out on your own. If you opt for a permanent policy, then you are able to build credit you can bank on. Literally! As the cash value of the policy grows, you will be able to borrow against it. Which makes building your future that much easier.
4. Future protection
If you opt for a paid up in 20 whole life policy at age 20 then by age 40 its fully paid for! For the rest of your life. It will just sit there accumulating value while you are out enjoying life, vacations, holidays, etc. It will be there until you die or, if you decide you no longer need it, you can cash it in for its surrender value which could cover years of retirement expenses or any large, unexpected costs later in life.
This table should give you a better idea of your possible savings if you were get insurance now vs later.
The future is unpredictable. Having a policy in place gives you the peace of mind that your future is secure, and your current or future family is protected. Its so much more affordable than you may think especially at a younger age.
Do something today that your future self will thank you for.

• Baiting restrictions: Baiting coyotes (and wolves) on public lands is generally prohibited except during limited winter dates or during an open black bear season.
Coyotes in Alberta are abundant wildlife and are treated differently from typical game species.
Under provincial regulations:
• Year-round hunting: Coyotes can be hunted all year on most lands in Alberta without a specific hunting licence other than a Wildlife Certificate. This makes Alberta one of the few places in Canada with such an open season on coyotes.
• Public vs. private land: On private land, residents with the right of access may hunt coyotes any time. On public lands, rights depend on whether the land is in the general public land or the forest/ park land, and access rights apply to those with permission to be there.
• No bag limits: There is no provincial bag limit on coyotes — you may harvest as many as you encounter, subject to land
• Exporting pelts: Coyotes lawfully taken by residents don’t require an export permit when leaving Alberta as long as they’re accompanied by the hunter.
Important: Even where hunting is permitted, you must follow federal and provincial laws on firearm discharge, especially near buildings, roads, and within municipal boundaries. Always check local bylaws.
Coyote hunting is popular among many hunters because:
• Coyotes are abundant and widely distributed across Alberta prairie, parkland, and foothill regions.
• They present a challenging target due to high awareness and adaptability.
Some hunters actively pursue coyotes as sport, using calls, high seats, or hunting blinds.
Coyotes also play roles in livestock predation management:
• Under Alberta’s Agricultural Pests Act, producers may take action against problem coyotes on their land to protect livestock.
• Agricultural field offices can assist producers when predation occurs, but lethal control is not meant to eradicate the species, only reduce predation when needed.
• Alberta Agriculture acknowledges coyotes have ecological value (rodent control, scavenging) and recommends using lethal tools only when necessary, alongside preventative measures.
Note: Compensation for livestock losses due to predators in Alberta generally excludes coyotes — ranchers must bear those losses on their own.

Here are some common approaches used by Alberta hunters:
• Calling Electronic calls or mouth calls mimic prey or distress sounds to lure coyotes.
• Stand Hunting
Using elevated blinds or natural cover to wait for coyotes to respond to calls and enter shooting range.
• Spot & Stalk
Actively searching along fence lines and edges where coyotes are likely to travel.

The 30-inch length offers excellent control inside shelters and on open ice, making it a versatile option for targeting a wide range of species. Whether you are jigging for walleye, perch, or trout, this rod delivers dependable performance in real-world conditions.
While baiting can be effective, it is restricted on public lands, and always check current regulations before setting bait.
• Firearm safety: Always adhere to firearm laws, including restrictions on discharging firearms near roads, dwellings, and in towns.
• Land access: Never enter private land without written permission.
• Responsible harvest: Even though

coyotes are abundant, ethical hunters avoid waste. Some utilize the fur, while others process or dispose of carcasses responsibly.
Coyote hunting in Alberta is legally broad and accessible, with year-round seasons and no bag limits for residents on most lands. It serves both recreational and livestock-protection roles. However, responsible hunting, respect for property rights, and safety must always guide your approach. Before heading out, review the latest Alberta hunting regulations and land access rules for your specific area.

The Advantages to Restoring Over Replacing Vinyl Siding and Windows
Vinyl siding fades over time. Installing a new piece of vinyl siding to replace the damage usually means that there will be a color mismatch with surrounding pieces. Fibrenew’s products and techniques perfectly match the existing color, regardless of how faded the material may be - the damage is untraceable once repaired.
Damaged PVC windows can be repaired ‘on the spot’ without having to remove them. This saves not only hundreds of dollars in installation labor but a great deal of time and stress savings as well!
