Shortcut to perfectly prepared and sealed floors

Penosil Floor category products offer a complete solution for the floor's life cycle. There are products for preparing the surfaces before floor installation, installing different floor coverings and also for floor reparation works.

Preparing the sub-surfaces and installing the floor coverings correctly is not only aesthetically pleasing but also increases the floor's lifespan.

Our Floor category products are heavy-wear resistant and can be used for a multitude of floor covering materials such as concrete, parquet and soft floor coverings (linoleum, vinyl and carpets, etc.).

The sequence of works to follow:

1. Products to use for strengthening concrete floors:

■ Use DustProofer 612, our waterglass coating, for strengthening and dust-proofing interior concrete floors.

2. Products to use for sealing joints, gaps and cracks:

■ Use our high modulus MS Polymer hybrid sealant with high movement capability: Floor Joint Hybrid 25HM for trafficable interior and exterior flooring joints such as concrete expansion and perimeter joints.

■ Self-Levelling Hybrid 716 and PU-Sealant HM 868 can be used for sealing and filling heavy-wear interior and exterior concrete floor joints, such as shrink control and welding joints.

3. Products to use for repairing and sealing wooden flooring:

■ For filling and sealing wooden flooring joints, use Parquet Filler 630, which offers a wide range of colours to ensure a suitable match can be found for any wooden flooring type.

SEALANTS: Tips and tricks

Best results:

■ Make sure surfaces are clean, dry and free from any dust, loose particles and oil stains.

■ Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the deeper joints.

■ Cover the adjacent surfaces with masking tape to ensure crisp and clean joint edges.

■ During the curing process, make sure that sealed surfaces stay clean and are not under mechanical stress.

■ For best finishing, use an appropriate smoothing tool.

How to use:

■ Cartridge: Cut the tip of the cartridge.

■ Screw on the nozzle and cut an opening at a 45° angle which is slightly larger than the joint to be sealed.

■ Place the cartridge onto a sealant gun.

■ Foil package: Place the package into the foil pack gun.

■ Snip the top off the foil package, just below the metal clip. Screw on the nozzle with the cap.

■ Cut an opening into the nozzle at a 45° angle which is slightly larger than the joint to be sealed.

■ Apply the sealant by keeping an even pressure at the gun trigger and smoothly dragging the nozzle along the joint.

■ Spray some Penosil Sealant Finisher 407 on the sealant, remove the excess sealant and smooth the surface with a spatula.

■ Remove the tape immediately after application and clean the adjacent surfaces, tools and hands with water or Penosil Cleaning Wipes 941.

COATINGS: Tips and tricks

Best results

■ Surfaces to be treated must be clean, dry and free from any dust or loose particles.

■ Prior to applying the product, freshly poured concrete surfaces should be left to dry for approximately 21 days (+23°C, 50% RH).

■ The best result is achieved by treating previously polished surfaces.

■ To achieve a smooth and uniform end result, it is important to remove after the drying time all solution that has not penetrated into the surface. Otherwise, spots may appear on the surface.

■ Final drying time is 24 hours.

■ When treating the surface in three stages, the product consumption is about 0.5 l/m².

■ Clean the tools with water, remove cured product mechanically.

How to use

■ The surface is treated in three consecutive stages:

■ First stage: mix the solution with water in a ratio of 1:2.

■ Apply the mix with a soft brush.

■ Be sure to saturate the surface so that the solution can penetrate into the concrete.

■ Leave the surface to dry for approximately 40 to 60 min.

■ Remove the excess product from the surface with a clean cloth and continue immediately with next stage.

■ Second stage: mix the solution with water in a ratio of 1:1 and follow the same steps as in stage one.

■ Third stage: mix the solution with water in a ratio of 2:1 and follow the same steps as in stage one.
