Thepremiseoftheprojectwastocreate ahousewhosesolutionswouldrespondto achosenenvironmentalproblem.Initially,the themeconcernedwater,themeltingofglaciers andtheassociatedriseinseaandoceanlevels.In thecourseoflearningaboutthechosenissue,it becameapparentthatthiswasamorecomplex problem.Theunderlyingissueisaccompaniedby theinherent,althoughseemingly contradictory,

Byreplacingthetypicalfoundationwitha concretefloat,thehousecanbelocated anywhere.Itcanbelaidontheground,butits mainpurposeistobelocatedonwater.Rivers, lakes,bays,ponds,rivervalleysorreservoirs, speciallydugforthelocationofthehouse.Allof thisisintendedtomakethefacilityeasily relocatableandcustomisable.Itisalso

intendedtobeanalternativetostandard housebuilding.Thecreationof'waterplots' that,inadditiontotheirresidentialfunctions,will alsohaveretentionpropertieswillallowbetter managementofrainwater.Theaccumulated water,combinedwithaphotovoltaiclayer,will beusedforwateringthegarden,butalsofor coolingorheatingthehouse.

Theslopeoftheroofallowsfor betterabsorptionanduseofsolar energythroughouttheday. Becausethehouseisonwaterand notpermanentlyconnectedtothe ground,itautomaticallyrotateson itsaxisintheabsenceoftheowners. Inthisway,itfollowsthesunand generatesenergythroughoutthe day.Ontheotherhand,ifthe ownersareathome,theycanlet thehousefollowthesun,or manuallyadjustthedirectionto matchtheneedforsunlighttothe roomstheyarein.

Acut-outinthemiddleof thehousecreatesaninteriorpatio. Coveredwithglass,itcanserveas aninternalcorridorbetweenthe rooms,anduncoveredasagarden withaccesstorainwater.The glazedwallsofthepatioalsoallow lightintotheinteriorofthehouse.

Thepremiseoftheconceptfortherevitalisationofthe formerchurchchapelandtheadjoiningbuildingisto converttheformerecclesiasticalandadministrative functionsintocraftspacewithareasforsmalltrade, workshop,educationalandopenroomswherevarious tradescanbetaught.Onacityscale,theOlawa Suburb,withinwhichthedevelopedsitesarelocated, hasaverylowlevelofeducation.Thepremiseofthe conceptfortherevitalisationoftheformerchurch chapelandtheadjoiningbuildingistoconvertthe

formerecclesiasticalandadministrativefunctionsinto craftspacewithareasforsmalltrade,workshop, educationalandopenroomswherevarioustradescan betaught.Thedesignedfunctionisintendedto complementtherevitalisationprogrammeforthe OławskiSuburb.Therangeofpossibilitiesofferedbythe openworkshopspacesmakesthebuildingversatile.Its purposeistoeducate,promoteandsellcrafts. Workshoproomswiththeappropriateequipmentare availableforthispurpose.

TheEvangelicalchapelinWroclawwas builtasasingle-navechancelchapelin 1853asapartofthe"Bethanien"hospital complex.Itchangedownershiptothe CatholicChurchandunderwent extensionsinthe1870s.Afterafirein1915,it wasrebuilt,butneglectledtoits deterioration.Afloodin1997further damagedthecomplex.Thehospital movedtonewlocationin2015,andin 2017,thepost-hospitalfacilitieswere purchasedbutleftneglected.Thehospital complexwasputupforsalein2020,but ownershipofthechapelremainsa contentiousissue.Forthisreason,the buildingremainsunattendedtothisday andisfallingintoincreasingdisrepair. Thebuildingwasenteredintheregisterof historicalmonumentson30.12.1987under No.A/2357/435/Wm.

Thechapelsectionisinaverypoorstate,withacollapsedroof,debris remainingforyears,anddamagedstainedglasswindows.Mostofthe plasterhasfallenoff,revealingthestructuralbricks.Aplaqueonthewall warnsofthebuilding'scollapserisk.Theadministrativepart,though,isin betterconditionandusedregularly.However,thefacadeisheavilysoiled andcoveredbyanunsightlybanner.

Thestainedglasswindowprovidesalink-a passagebetweenthetwobuildings.Itislocatedin theplaceofthealtar,inplaceofthebricked-up formerstainedglasswindow.Itisaformof commemorationofthefunctionandcharacterof thisspace.

Theappearanceandcolourschemeisalsono accident.Theredfrombelowbrighteninginthe middlepartandchangingtoblueatthehighest point,isaratherobvioussymbolismofhellpurgatory-heaven.Thatis,are-emphasisofthe object'sformerfunction.

Theredandbluecolourhasonedoublemeaning.It isareminderofthehistoryofthesiteandthe tragediesthatbefellit.Blueisthesymboloftheflood ofthemillennium,whichfirstdamagedandbegan theprocessofdestroyingthebuilding.Red,onthe otherhand,symbolisesthefirethatconsumedand broughtthebuildingtoitsfinalruin.

Theschool,locatedinthesouthernpartofSenegal, servesasaneducationalandsocialinstitution.Its uniquetriangulardesignsymbolizesthefamily,with eachvertexrepresentingthefather,mother,andchild. Emphasizingtheimportanceofparentalsupport,the schoolenableschildrentohaveaccesstoeducation. Thecollaborativespace,knownasthelaboratory, strengthensthebondbetweenparentsandchildren, fosteringaclose-knitcommunity.Theschoolisguided byprinciplesofadaptabilitytouser needs, student

safety, communitybuilding,and construction versatility,allowingittobeestablishedinvarious Africanlocationswhileprovidingasafeand welcominglearningenvironment.Regardingsafety, thebuilding'sequilateraltriangleplanwithopening anglesof60degreesalignswiththehumanfieldof vision,enablingeffectivesupervisionand control fromeachcorner.Theplacementoftheentranceat onevertexallowsformonitoringandinspectionof individualsenteringthepremises.

Thedesignisbasedonarepetitivegrid ofcolumnsthatformthebasisofthe structureandallowmanipulationofthe materialsusedbetweenthemmaking thedesignversatileandadaptableto thelocationinwhichitiscreated.Work shouldbeginbyfindingagroupoftrees tobelocatedinsidetheschool'spatio.

Theconstructionofthebuildingallowsitto bedoneinstages.Thisallowstheschoolto startfunctioningatatimewhenitisnot possibletofinishallitsphasesatonce.This isasolutionthatwillallowthereplicationof theprojectorpartsofittolocalitiesthat decidetocarryouttheprojectthemselves withoutalargefinancialormaterialoutlay.

Duringclasses,the externalwallsremain closed,andonlythe panelsinsidethe schoolareopened, ensuringprivacyand securityforstudents.

Whenclassesare notinsession,the interiorpanelsare closed,openingup thelaboratorytothe outsideandenabling publicaccesswithout disruptingthe classrooms.

Onnon-school days,allpanels, includingthoseinthe laboratory,canteen, andnurse'soffice,can beopened,creating anopenstructurethat facilitatesvarious communityevents. Thisflexibledesign promotesthe integrationofthe schoolintothewider community,providing spacesfordiverse activitiesandfostering inclusivity.

Theclosurerelatedtothecoronavirusoutbreakhas resultedinpeoplewhoarenowdecidingtobuya homelookingforaspacewithcloseaccesstogreen space.Thebestoptionwouldbehouseswitha garden.Withrisingpropertyandlandprices,however, thisisanoptionavailabletofew.Forthisreason,in multi-familydevelopments,balconieshavebecome animportantspaceintheflat.Asmallspacethat allowsyoutobeoutsidewithoutleavingyourflat. In theconceptbeingdevelopedwehavea combinationofthesetwogreenaspects.

Accesstotheparkacrossthestreetandlarge balconieswiththepossibilityoftheirgreen arrangement.Theproximityoftheparkalso influencestheshapeofthedevelopment.The roundedcornersallowthebuildingtogetridofsharp anglesandfitinbetterwiththenearbygreenareas. Inaddition,aroofgardenismadeavailabletothe residents,whichalsocreatesarelationwiththe greeneryontheothersideofthestreet.Highandlow plantingsbathethegardeningreeneryandcreate afriendlyspaceforresidentstorelaxandsocialise.

Ontheoppositesideofthestreetfromthebuilding,theareaofthe Szczesliwickiparkbegins.Itisdelimitedonthestreetsidebyalineof trees.Therhythmofthetrunkshasbeenthickenedandappliedtothe building'sfacade.Thisisvisibleonthelowerstoreyofthebuildingand intherailingsprotectingthebalconies.

PoleMokotowskieisrecognisedasaparkand recreationalspace.Numerouspicnicandbarbecue areas,open-airgamesquares,aswellasbicycle andjoggingpaths,makeitaplacewhererelaxation isassociatedwithspendingtimeoutdoors.Creating arestaurantinsuchaplacemakesitnecessaryto relatetotheimmediatesurroundingsandthenature ofleisureactivities.Forthisreason,organicshapes werechosenthatworkwiththelinesofthe surroundingnature.Inaddition,thewallsweremade almostcompletelytransparent. Theuseof

highlytransparentglassisintendedtomakethe buildingalmostinvisible,evenlostinthesurrounding greenery.Itismeanttobeanotherspacetospend timeinnature,notanenclosedrestaurantlikeina citycentre.Theonlythingthatwillmarkthe boundariesoftherestaurantisitsroofandthevinecoveredopenworkcorners.Thesewillbemadeof metaltendons,whichwillalsoreferinasoftwayto thehardandangularshapesofthelibrarybuilding, whichislocatedinthebackgroundofPole Mokotowskieandtherestaurant.
