NMC PROPOSED TO CONDUCT THE NEET UG EXAM
The National Medical Commission (NMC), India's top medical government body, may soon take over administration of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET, NEET-UG), the entry point to several medical degree programs in India, including MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, and BSc Nursing.

Aproposal to this effect was made by the National Medical Commission which made the plan and Regulations of the Undergraduate Medical Education Board 2023, available for public comment on their website.
The document also states the requirements for admission to NEET (UG courses). Applicants who have taken English, physics, chemistry, biology, or biotechnology in grades 10 and 12 will be permitted. There are also plans to involve a number of institutions in the administration of the exams.
In the event of a tie in NEET UG, individual grades in biology, chemistry, and physics will be considered. If there is still a tie after that, a computerised lottery will be used without human involvement.
For admission to medical programs, the merit list NEET UG will serve as the basis for counselling at all Indian medical colleges. The NMC will prescribe the seating matrix, for which numerous rounds will be conducted. The Under Graduate Medical Education Board will be responsible for determining the counselling process.
Only in the first year of study, students can transfer from one college to another.There are only two options: from one government medical school to another government medical school or from one private medical school to another private medical school.
The first violation carries a fine of Rs. 50 lakh and the second violation carries a fine of Rs. 1 crore for universities that do not comply with the commission's guidelines. The organisation will also expel students for violations.

NEETUG is currently administered by the National TestingAgency, which also administers examinations such as JEE and NET
