Looking back at Agritechnica For the second year running, the Kramp OEM team was represented in its own right with a stand in the Systems and Components hall. This year, the hall provided the perfect place to present solutions for OEM. The Systems and Components concept was introduced in 2013 by DLG and has developed over the course of two years into a professional and technical top quality set-up. In short, a good opportunity for buyers, design engineers and business owners to become familiar with our solutions in the field of hydraulics and drive technology. The new design of the stand was clearly reflected in the increased number of discussions in relation to 2013. Many companies are seeing the need to invest in new developments in terms of efficiency and reducing production costs.

This edition of the OEM Expert is therefore almost entirely dedicated to Agritechnica and the core points from our presentation at the exhibition.

WINE & TOAST EVENT

Find innovative solutions and services in an informal setting Visitors got themselves acquainted with our solutions and services for OEM in an informal setting while enjoying a glass of wine at the Wine & Toast Event during Agritechnica. The main attraction was the Assist Drive, specifically developed for producers of towed machinery used under severe conditions. Great interest was shown in this drive system across the whole of Europe.

Sales Engineers were on hand to provide information and answer questions. They informed visitors of the significant benefits of the Product Configurator, the online tool that allows customers to develop cylinders and hydraulic hoses. The evening was organised by Kramp in cooperation with Monroc and Sampo Hydraulics. These suppliers provide the axles and the Blackbruin wheel motors for the Assist Drive.

HOSE CONFIGURATOR

Order your hydraulic hoses quickly and easily online The presentation of the Cylinder Configurator at SIMA in 2014 was recently followed by a demo version of the Hose Configurator at Agritechnica 2015.

Visitors were able to get acquainted with the many benefits that this online tool has to offer at the Kramp OEM stand.

The big difference with similar online tools is that this configurator doesn’t just include our best selling hoses. "Our configurator allows you to view all the options you could want" says Marcel Walvoort. As the Hydraulic Cylinder Solutions Manager at Kramp, he was closely involved with the creation of the configurator, which is now helping customers to order both cylinders and hydraulic hoses.

For OEM and the aftermarket The structure of the configurator is ideal for both aftermarket and OEM use. Walvoort explains "Imagine you need to replace a defective hose. You can specify the number of steel layers or the international EN standard to find the right hose. If you're an OEM, you can simply select the hose based on the parameters of operating pressure, temperature, abrasion resistance and bend radius. There are several additional options such as cleaning, protection, labelling and testing".

Assembling hose sets Customers also have the option of putting together their own hose set. This set is allocated a single part number so that it is easy to reorder the complete set in the future. Another great advantage is that you can see the price immediately. There is also the option to select a short lead time or an economic delivery time that provides a price advantage. The Hose Configurator is scheduled to launch in the webshop soon.

Ticking the boxes To order hoses which fully meet the required specifications, the customer only has to tick the desired options. After answering a few questions, the customer is automatically directed to the correct hose. Once approved, the order is added to the shopping basket with a single click.

TRAINING COMER INDUSTRIES

'Sharing knowledge leads to the best solutions for the client' The cooperation between Kramp and Comer stretches right back to 1985. It was in that year that Kramp first became distributor of Comer drive technology in Europe.

At the end of September, a Kramp team consisting of sales engineers, product specialists and OEM specialists travelled to Reggio Emilia for training with the Italian company.

The training focused on gearboxes, PTOs, planetary drives, power train wheel shafts and their application. The purpose of the session was to get to know the complete Comer range as well as finding the best solutions for the customer. According to Dante Baruffi, Central Europe Branch Manager at Comer Industries, sharing knowledge is "essential for optimum collaboration".

To assist our OEM customers further, we have redesigned the OEM web pages in the webshop. The new structure shows clearly that we are not only a supplier of parts, but can provide value added services across a range of fields as an OEM partner.

LAMMA Show 2016 For the last thirty years or more, the LAMMA Show has been the largest British exhibition for agricultural machinery. The exhibition took place on the 20th and 21st of January at the East of England Showground in Peterborough, about 80 kilometres south of Newark.

The first LAMMA Show took place in Lincolnshire in 1982, with around 50 exhibitors and 2,500 visitors. In the last few decades, both the number of visitors (over 40,000) and the number of exhibitors (900) has increased substantially.

Getting down to business "We are very pleased that so many exhibitors booked their stands early on in 2015" said Rupert Levy, director of Briefing Media, the organisers of LAMMA. "This proves once again that the quality of the exhibition and the large number of visitors to LAMMA 2015 are helping the exhibitors at the show to get down to business".
