And she had a long, hooked nose that reached down to her chin.
She muttered to herself. She took the nightingale and carried it away.
Joringel could say nothing. He couldn't even move.
A mala dlhý zahnutý nos až po bradu. Zamrmlala si pre seba.
Chytila slávika a odniesla ho vo svojej ruke preč.
Joringel nemohol nič povedať.
Nemohol sa zo svojho miesta ani len pohnúť.
The nightingale was gone forever.
Finally, the woman returned and said in a harsh voice:
"Good evening, Joringel.
When the moon shines, you will be free."
The moon did shine, and Joringel was free again.
He knelt before the old woman and begged her to give him back his Jorinda.
But she told him he would never have her back.
Then she left.
He called after her, wept and lamented, but all in vain.
"What will become of me?" He thought and walked away.
At last, he came to a village where he had been tending sheep for a long time.
He often walked around the castle when he was there but never got too close.
Until one day, he dreamt of a red flower with a beautiful big pearl in the middle.
He picked the flower and took it to the castle.
Everything that he touched with the flower was suddenly free of magic.
And so he got his Jorinda back.
When he awoke in the morning, he began to search the mountains and valleys for such a flower.
He searched for her for eight days.
On the ninth day, he found such red flower.
„Čo so mnou len bude?“ pomyslel si a odišiel preč.
It had a dewdrop in the middle, as big as the most beautiful pearl.
Hľadal ju osem dní.
Na deviaty deň jednu takú červenú kvetinu našiel.
Uprostred mala kvapku rosy, veľkú ako najkrajšia perla.
He travelled day and night with this flower until he came to the castle.
When he was a hundred paces from the castle, it did not stop him, and he could go on.
He got as far as the gate.
He was delighted with his success.
He touched the gate with a flower, and it opened wide.
He stepped through it into the courtyard and stood there.
He tried to hear the birds singing, and he could.
He entered the great hall where the witch was with her seven thousand birds in their wicker cages.
When she saw Joringel, she became furious.
She wanted to spit poisonous bile at him but could not approach him.
He ignored her and went to look for the bird cages.
Cestoval deň a noc s touto kvetinou, až pokým neprišiel k zámku.
Vošiel do veľkej haly, kde bola čarodejka so svojimi siedmimi tisíckami vtákov v ich prútených klietkach.
On si ju nevšímal a išiel hľadať klietky s vtákmi.
