Korowa Anglican Girls' School's Writers' Club met for the first time in February 2016. Requested by a group of students who sought more opportunities to unleash their creativity, the club has grown to an impressive number of girls who shape their stories and poems together each week.
The intention of the writers' club was to have a bit of fun and spark some imagination and inspiration, but with no pressure whatsoever to craft flawless prose every time a pencil hit the page.
However, the work the students have been producing has completely blown my mind. Even when we play light-hearted writing games, or do spontaneous free writing, the members of the club come out blazing. These girls are magicians with words.
I am so proud of the writers' club, and know they will continue to have a ball every week in meetings and encourage each other to be their most creative selves. This zine is a wonderful example of just that.
