A Resilient Return: Celebrating the Receiving of the Official KOP Lodge Charter
In a story that traverses continents and generations, the Knights of Pythias has once again established its noble presence in the Philippines. A journey that began in the early 1900s and was rekindled in 2019 has now culminated in a triumphant moment: the receiving of the official KOP Lodge Charter for William McKinley Castle Lodge #1.
After its departure from the Philippines in the early 1900s, the Knights of Pythias has returned with renewed vigor and purpose. The foundation was laid in 2019, and on July 16, 2021, a significant milestone was reached when the Supreme Lodge issued a Warrant for the re-institution and re-establishment of William McKinley Castle Lodge #1 in Manila, Philippines. This marked the reawakening of a brotherhood dedicated to the ideals of friendship, charity, and benevolence.

New Grand Officers: Domain of Indiana
The spirit of camaraderie and dedication to the principles of the Knights of Pythias were palpable at the July Annual Convention held in Lafayette, Indiana, where the Domain of Indiana elected its Grand Officers for the 2023-2024 term. With a diverse and dynamic team at the helm, the Indiana Domain is poised for a year of meaningful contributions and impactful initiatives.
Leading the Domain as Grand Chancellor is Jeffery L. Strahan of Crescens Lodge #33, a retired Marine whose steadfast leadership exemplifies the values of discipline and service. With the inspiring theme “Look to the Stars,” Grand Chancellor Strahan sets a course for an aspirational and purposeful year ahead.

Golden Spur Awardee
At the recently concluded Grand Domainof Indiana 2023 Grand Convention, an a celebration of dedicated service and unwavering commitment, Richard Neal of Crescens Lodge #33 in New Castle, Indiana, has been honored as the recipient of the Knights of Pythias Golden Spur Award for 2024. With an impressive record of service to the Pythian Order and the local community, Neal’s recognition as the Golden Spur honoree is a testament to his remarkable contributions over a lifetime.


Having served in various Grand Offices, Sir Richard Neal’s journey within the Knights of Pythias has been marked by a consistent dedication to the organization’s values and ideals. His recent appointment as the Grand Lodge of Indiana Grand Treasurer further reflects his leadership and commitment to the Pythian cause. The Golden Spur is the pinnacle of recognition within the Pythian Order, which signifies a lifetime of selfless service, emphasizing that it is not an honor that can be purchased, but one that must be earned through unrelenting dedication to Pythian principles. Sir Richard Neal’s journey serves as an inspiration to all members, encouraging them to continue embodying the spirit of brotherhood, charity, and community service that the Knights of Pythias represent.
The remarkable ceremony which was awe-inspiring brought tears to Sir Neal. The selection of the receipient being kept ultra-secret until it is revealed only by the Grand Secretary in a sealed envelop and only opened during the knighting is a truly extra-ordinary event to witness.
New Votaries in DOKKs
Al Hilal #33 of the Dramatic Order of the Knights of Khorassan has initiated no less than 10 new votaries at the recent Grand Lodge of Indiana Annual Convention. After having enjoyed receiving the initiatory ritual, the new votaries took active participation in the fun and renowned “Eight Order.”
The DOKK ritual teaches valuable lessons of life and includes a scene which exemplifies our motto “Lift Up The Fallen”. It is rated as one of the finest ritualistic parts ever written.
At the recent July 29, 2023 Imperial Convention in New York, Al Hilal #33 is now recognized as the largest temple in the world with the most members.

Pythian of the Year 2023 Awardee: Kenny Livingston

The Knights of Pythias, has recently honored one of its distinguished members with the Pythian of the Year Award for the year 2023. Ken Livingston, a dedicated and active member of the Worthington Lodge #253 in Indiana, has been recognized for his exceptional contributions and unwavering commitment to the principles of friendship, charity, and benevolence.

Attending the Knights of Pythias Grand Domain of Indiana Annual Convention was an unforgettable experience that left me with a profound sense of belonging and inspiration. As I entered the convention center, I was greeted by a wave of warmth and camaraderie that permeated the air. I was instantly captivated by the palpable energy of unity and purpose. The air crackled with anticipation as brothers from every corner of the state gathered in a magnificent display of camaraderie and shared values.

From the first moment of introduction, I had the privilege of meeting countless brothers who exemplified the principles of friendship, charity, and benevolence. Each interaction was filled with genuine warmth and a deep sense of connection. We shared stories, exchanged ideas, and learned from one another’s experiences. The wealth of knowledge and wisdom within the Fraternity was awe-inspiring, reminding me of the strength that lies in unity and brotherhood. It became clear that this annual convention was more than just a gathering—it was a transformative journey of personal growth and inspiration for each participant.
The vibrant tapestry of diverse faces and stories ignited a fire within me, fuelling a renewed sense of purpose and dedication to the principles of friendship, charity, and benevolence. Each interaction was a gift, an opportunity to learn from the wisdom of seasoned brothers, and sisters and to forge lifelong bonds with kindred spirits. The bonds formed and the memories created will forever hold a special place in my Pythian heart. As I reflect on this remarkable experience, I am reminded of the immense power of unity and the incredible impact we can have when we come together as brothers and sisters in pursuit of a greater purpose.
The convention brimmed with a kaleidoscope of exhilarating experiences. Powerful keynote speeches echoed through the Temple halls, igniting flames of passion and sparking a collective desire to make a meaningful impact in our communities. The engaging ceremonies schooled us with invaluable tools and insights, empowering us to be catalysts for positive change for ourselves and our society. The energy reached its crescendo during the vibrant social activities, where laughter and celebration filled the air, reminding us that brotherhood and sisterhood is not just a concept but a living, breathing force that permeates every aspect of our lives.

In addition to the formal events, the convention fostered a spirit of celebration and camaraderie and these moments of collective enjoyment provided a refreshing break from the daily routine, allowing us to relax, connect, and revel in the shared bonds that brought us all together.
The convention was a demonstration to the extraordinary power of unity, reminding us that when we stand together, we are capable of monumental achievements. As I bid farewell to my brothers, I carry with me the electrifying energy, the enduring friendships, and the unwavering spirit of the Knights of Pythias and the Pythian Sisters. With hearts ablaze and minds ignited, we will continue to make a difference, to uplift those in need, and to leave an indelible mark on the world.
The connections made and experiences shared during this gathering of like-minded individuals reinforced the notion that we are part of something greater than ourselves. I am grateful for the opportunity to have attended such a remarkable event, and I eagerly anticipate carrying the spirit of brotherhood into the world, inspired by the wonderful experiences and the extraordinary individuals I encountered at the convention. In a heartfelt display of compassion and community service, Jose Magno Fortuna and Victor Capacillo orchestrated a remarkable charity event that touched the lives of many on July 29, 2023, at the Bigaas Covered Court in Camarines Sur. Guided by the inspirational words of seeking happiness through service, the duo coordinated and actively participated in a multifaceted initiative that brought essential services and support to the underserved.

This exceptional endeavor showcased a wide array of services, benefiting a diverse range of individuals and even pets. A total of 140 individuals received the gift of tuli (circumcision), while 35 others underwent dental extractions. In a concerted effort to enhance the well-being of the community, free reading glasses were distributed to 125 people, 78 individuals received complimentary haircuts, and 36 underwent blood

Community Feeding Services in Lucena City
No matter what the distance, our charitable services does not stop. Applicant retainer Arnold Tagarro did not let distance stop him from rendering charitable services to the community of Barangay 7 in Lucena City.
On August 6th, Sunday, retainer Tagarro coordinated with the Sanguniaang Kabataan to do the leg work for him in rendering a community feeding program. Under the guidance and supervision of the local barangay kagawads whi he contacted, he request-

ed and involved the Sangguniaan Kabataan in a worthwhile community feeding program in order to likewise teach the younger generations the importance of community service.
The feeding program was able to render services to no less than 30 indigent children and their parents.


Truly, if only we are able to extend a helping hand to others, this world will be a better place.

Assisting Grand Chancellor Strahan in steering the Indiana Domain toward its goals are a group of dedicated and accomplished individuals. Kenneth F. Norris of Worthington Lodge #253 takes on the role of Grand Vice Chancellor, while Donald L. Adams of Ashley Lodge #394 assumes the position of Grand Prelate, ensuring the Domain remains grounded in its values.
The administrative backbone of the Domain is fortified by Dennis O. Adams of Crescens Lodge #33 as Grand Secretary and Richard P. Neal, also of Crescens Lodge #33, as Grand Treasurer. Together, they lay the groundwork for efficient operations and impactful initiatives.
Gerald L. Griggs, Wayne N. Hansen, and Gerald Murdock, members of Crescens Lodge #33 and Worthington Lodge #253, stand united in their roles as Grand Master at Arms, Grand Inner Guard, and Grand Outer Guard, respectively, to safeguard the integrity of the Domain.

Rounding off this dynamic team is Michael A. Langdon, once again representing Crescens Lodge #33, who joins as Immediate Past Grand Chancellor to lend his experience and insights to the Indiana Domain’s endeavors.
Grand Chancellor Strahan, true to the Pythian spirit, has chosen “Toys for Tots” as his charitable focus for the year, showcasing the Domain’s commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
As the 2023-2024 term commences, the Indiana Domain’s newly elected Grand Officers stand united, ready to elevate the Knights of Pythias’ ideals of friendship, charity, and benevolence to new heights. Castle Lodge #1 was re-instituted and re-established in Angeles, Pampanga. The event was graced by the presence of Domain of Indiana Grand Secretary Dennis Adams, adding a touch of international camaraderie to the occasion. Then, at the 2023 Annual Grand Lodge Convention in Lafayette, Indiana, the heartfelt culmination of this endeavor was realized. Founding Treasurer Atty. Francisco “Kookie” Villano Jr. and Deputy District Grand Chancellor #6 Michael “BK MD” Duque proudly received the official Charter of the Lodge from Grand Secretary Dennis Adams and Grand Chancellor Michael Langdon. Master of Works Bro Gil Soria coordinated and spearheaded a successful Pythian Orientation which was attended by interested applicants and individuals. On June 25 at 8pm., no less than 25-individuals who are interested in the Knights of Pythias were given an interesting and inspiring general overview by CC Alendry Paloma ang DDGC#6 Michael Duque. Topics which were briefly discussed were KOP and its history and its similarities and differences with other fraternal organizations, KOP Philippines introduction, membership process and requirements and a general Q&A.
The virtual orientation was successful in than at least 10-attendees have signified thier interest to join the Pythian Order.
