Sri Lanka – Now is the time to discover Sri Lanka; still something of a hidden gem, the country showcases nature at its finest and a people both tireless and genteel. Distances are short but the simple act of hopping on a train opens up a world of adventure. Pass verdant panoramas and tea plantations as you head to hiking trails and eco-retreats; discover the world’s oldest planted tree in Anuradhapura, or watch herds of elephants in Minneriya. Whether you’d rather climb Adam’s Peak or surf and sunbath on golden sands, you will quickly see why Marco Polo described Sri Lanka as the finest island of its size in the world.

Sri Lanka Insights 9 day itinerary Katugoda – 1 night Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo where you will be met by your representative and transferred to Kotugoda. The rest of the day is at leisure. We will recommend the most suitable accommodation for your stay in Sri Lanka.

Sigiriya – 2 nights Take a trip to the World Heritage-listed Sigiriya, visiting the inspiring Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela on the way. Enjoy a late afternoon visit to the World Heritage-listed Golden Temple Caves in Dambulla – the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The next morning, travel with your guide to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, and spend the afternoon in World Heritage-listed ancient city of Polonnaruwa.

Kandy – 2 nights Transfer to the World Heritage-listed Kandy. En route, visit the Spice Garden and Batik Factory at Matale. Then you will get some time for relaxing and unwinding before joining an evening of traditional Sri Lanka culture. The next day, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth of The Buddha – one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world – and the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya.

Pussellawa – 2 nights – Yala – 1 night Board a train to Nanu Oya where you will be met by your chauffeur who will take you to Pussellawa to enjoy a two-night stay at your leisure. Conclude your trip with a visit to Yala. Upon arrival, check into Chaaya Wild, a luxurious game lodge bordering Yala National Park. The park is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan Elephants and aquatic birds and is the most visited national park in Sri Lanka. Transfer to the airport or continue your stay at a beautiful south coast beach destination.
