SEASONS The best time to visit the vast continent of Africa depends on which region you plan to go to: SOUTH AFRICA
NORTH AFRICA
Kruger National Park and surrounds dry, winter season falls between May and October; early morning game drives can be chilly, but the grass is low which makes it much easier to see wildlife.
Egypt, Jordan, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Oman are coolest from October to March, but shoulder seasons of September and April are also recommended.
Cape Town has a mild Mediterranean climate. June is the wettest month and July is the coldest month.
EAST AFRICA
SOUTHERN AFRICA Botswana and Zimbabwe have three seasons: low season from December to March; shoulder season from April to June, and November; and high season from July to October.

Namibia’s low season is from January through June, and high season is from July through October. November and December are the wettest months and self-drives are not recommended.

WEST AFRICA
Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia have the long rains from March to May and the less intense short rains from October to December. However, the upside of traveling in ‘green’ season is magnificent birdlife and discounted pricing. To catch the great wildebeest migration as it approaches the river crossings, the prime months are between June and September. Gorilla trekking is a year round option, but the drier months of January and February and from June to September are preferred.
INDIAN OCEAN ISLANDS Blessed with warm tropical climates throughout the year, these sunsoaked isles are great throughout most of the year, however the months of January and February are less desirable.
