Such a location offers a lot to the amateurs of nature, mountain challenges, spas and history. The wildlife of the place is truly unique – we can come across the wolf, the lynx or the bear. Small creatures such as the mountain dragon i.e. the fire salamander will delight us as well. The forests of the Beskids hide amazing rocks, caves and waterfalls. Hikers and cyclists will find a plethora of trails with panoramic spots from which breathtaking views of the Beskids, the Gorce, the
Tatras and the Pieniny spread. Piwniczna, the town, offers numerous ways in which we can spend our time actively, either in summer or winter. We can sail on a boat, go kayaking or rafting by dinghies on the Poprad river or go fishing. There are cycling trails, which run through the valley or mountain wilderness, for the amateurs of enduro cycling or even a pumptrack and a skatepark. We can go horse riding and, in winter, we will be able to choose from a variety of ski stations and cross-country skiing trails. Finally, Piwniczna is a paradise for mountain hikers, mushroom pickers or amateurs of mountain shelters with a vibe.
Chata na Kowalówkach is situated over Piwniczna, in a picturesque forest of the Beskids which makes the air amazingly clear and brisk. It is a mainstay of peace, a place created for relaxation, ideal for those who seek contact with nature, tranquillity and ‘simple’ life
in the best sense of the word. The cottage is built from wood – a material Black Highlanders have always used to construct their houses, which adds to the charm and gives warmth.
The place will serve great as a starting point for people who enjoy active leisure as it is located in the proximity of numerous sports facilities, mountain trails – hiking, cycling or skiing ones, and bridle paths. After a day spent in the mountains, it will be an ideal, warm oasis. Just imagine sitting in a soft armchair with a mug of hot
tea thinking about a day spent in the mountains. On warm evenings you can gaze at the stars standing in front of the cottage or on its terrace. The smell of bread baked in a bread oven will make our mornings an excellent experience.
The wooden cottage which tempts with its unique atmosphere can accommodate 8 guests. There are two private bedrooms. In the bedroom no 1 there is one double and one single bed. In the bedroom no 2 there are 3 single beds and an entresol with a double bed. A spacious living room connected with a dining room and a well-equipped kitchen with a wood-burning stove are at guests’ disposal. There is a bread oven with the use of which we can make
delicious, aromatic bread or home-made pizza. In the cellar table tennis and table football await guests.
A huge, wooden terrace is an inseparable part of the place – from it, a picturesque view of the area stretches. Outside, guests can make a campfire or organise a barbecue. There is also a closed parking spot.
