The Story Behind konfAir a/s
konfAir was established in 1972, by Lise and Erik Alstrup under the name of “KONF-AIR Miljøfiltre ApS”. The early years were spent manufacturing pneumatic stackers for the textile industry, but in 1974 we formed a long lasting and close cooperation with BWF, a German needle felt manufacturer. This was the beginning of our filter bag production.
The first 34 years were spent in old stable buil dings while gradually expanding the company. In the beginning of 1996, there was a generational change when Erik’s son Christian Alstrup took over the family business. In 2000, we expanded the production with yet another building in Denmark while at the same time establishing a production facility in Lithuania. In 2006, we moved the Danish location to the present headquarters in Herning. Our production facilities today cover more than 6000 square meters.
A lot has happened since Lise and Erik established konfAir back in 1972, but the DNA remains the same. We still have focus on the customers and consider ourselves a skilled and flexible partner for both customers as well as suppliers.
