Firstly, we’d like to say a big thank you to local Bath artist Sean Robinson for creating this season’s wonderful cover artwork!
Sean’s concept draws on both fantastical and historical influences to show what he calls “a warped version of a believable reality.”
“I naturally observe small details, which I express by highlighting often overlooked aspects of my subject matter,” he explains. “I’m curious about the interaction of light, colour & contrast and I actively explore this dynamic to relay an inviting, intriguing presence.” You can find more of Sean’s work on Instagram by following @sean.robi.
Over the course of the coming three months, we’ve got tonnes of top stand-up - including a whole series of Edinburgh Preview double bills, featuring the likes of Dani Johns & Louise Leigh (p.5), Amy Mason & Katie Norris (p.7) and Tom Ward & Will Robbins (p.7) - as well as our ever-popular Krater Comedy Club, which takes place every Saturday night! (p.2-3).
For live music lovers, gig highlights include Drop In The Ocean + Dirty Cash (p.10), Robyn Hitchcock (p.16), Part Chimp (p.19) and Lloyd Cole’s One Man Show (p.17) Plus, there are plenty of other diverse events to explore - from club nights to bingo, magic to burlesque and just about everything in-betweenso dive in & we hope to see you soon!

Since the very beginning, the Komedia ethos has been rooted in a love of live performance and a belief in its power to add to the sum of human happiness. But, since becoming a Community Benefit Society, we’ve thought more about what this might mean in the context of our immediate community and have devised a set of core values that we now live by.
We want to ensure that we are here for the long run, providing a diverse array of events for the people of Bath and the surrounding areas for many years to come.
We prioritise nurturing local and up-and-coming talent - as well as those aspiring towards careers in the events sector - by offering performance and training opportunities.
We aspire to being accessible to everyone. From introducing British Sign Language interpreted events and achieving Bronze accreditation from Attitude Is Everything, we work tirelessly to make improvements wherever we can.
We believe in keeping our ticket prices, drinks prices and booking fees as fair as possible to minimise personal financial status being a barrier to entry. We provide concession tickets for our most popular in-house productions and have an ever-growing programme of free events.
We want to be part of a vibrant city and see other entertainment organisations as offering choice for the community, not competition for us. Supporting each other and working together is essential.
We pride ourselves on being a safe space for all artists, customers and staff. We are part of Bath BID, work hand-in-hand with Safe & Secure and provide anti-sexual harassment training to all team members as part of the #NeverOk Campaign.
We care about being a green venue and have slashed the amount of single-use plastic we have on site. A long-term goal is to have solar panels installed on our roof.
If you have any feedback about the venue or what we are trying to do, please share your thoughts with us. You can reach us at: info@komediabath.co.uk
Komedia is a multi-use venue and our shows have different set-ups - from theatre-style rows, to cabaret tables and full on rock gigs - but we have taken steps to make all of them accessible.
Wheelchair users are welcome at all our events and we offer free tickets for Personal Assistants to accompany customers who would otherwise be unable to attend the event. We also have a raised viewing area with great sight lines of the stage and easy access to the bar and loos that we can reserve by request at all of our standing shows. You’ll just need to give us a ring, drop us an email or pop into the Venue Box Office to request seating at the viewing area or a Personal Assistant Ticket.
An increasing number of our most popular shows feature British Sign Language interpretation. Just look out for the symbol opposite while browsing this brochure, or visit www.komediabath.co.uk and search for ‘BSL shows’ to see what we have coming up.
At these shows, we have specific seats available that have an uninterrupted view of our BSL interpreter. Simply request these in the ‘Customer Comment’ box when making your booking online, or speak with a member of our Box Office team.
If you have already booked tickets for a show and have an access query, it is as easy as replying to your ticket email with any questions and requirements. We will get back to you within 2 working days and are always happy to adjust tickets & seats as required.
Unfortunately, we do not have an audio induction loop at the venue yet, but we aim to install one soon.
If you are unsure how to get to the venue, where to park, how it works at the Box Office, bar and in the queue, if strobe lighting will be used, if you can bring medication, your assistance dog or if your wheelchair will fit through the Auditorium doors (we promise, it will!) – check our ‘Accessibility’ page on the website using the QR code on the left.
Alternatively, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via phone on 01225 489 070, via email at info@komediabath.co.uk or in person at our venue Box Office.
Likewise, if you have any comments, suggestions or feedback on the venue’s accessibility, please let us know - we are always keen to improve!
